Found November 28, 2011 on BirdsFan.com - A Philadelphia Eagles...: Yardbarker Blogger Network
Many people probably put this game down as a loss when they tried to predict the Eagles schedule in the beginning of the year. What they probably didn’t predict is that they’d enter that game with a record of 4-6. It’s been a very rough season and yesterday was a very rough game. Here are some random thoughts and observations I have on the Eagles most recent loss. Solid start, right? I was very weary going into this game, but this after the Eagles took a quick 10-0 lead, I thought they might be on to something. It kind of reminded me of the early lead they put on Indy last year, another game I was weary of before kickoff. However, the end results were quite different. From the start, it was pretty evident what the Eagles offensive game plan was. They wanted to throw the ball on a depleted Patriots secondary. I understand that they wanted to expose this area, but how do you abandon the run so easily? The Eagles entered the game with the league’s leading rusher after ten weeks...

Eagles Defensive Comedy Is Speeding Up Reid’s Departure

If the Eagles go to Seattle and are beaten by a bad Seahawks team it will increase the chances that Andy Reid will be fired.  The embarrassing loss to the Patriots surely gave Jeffrey Lurie and Joe Banner more reasons to consider firing Reid.  Lurie is from the Boston area.  He considered purchasing the Patriots. Chances [...]

New England looks Dominant in Romp over Philadelphia

“The Dream Team…” Eagles QB Vince Young looked stellar – for three minutes, as his Eagles took a 10-0 lead early on, before the New England Patriots overcame their slow star to crush Philly in their house this evening. Patriots QB Tom Brady looked clinical once again, throwing darts across the field and connecting on deep balls to WR’s Deion Branch and...

Patriots and Eagles announce inactives: Mallett is the last out, Asomugha is in

The Patriots just declared their final inactive, with QB Ryan Mallett being the last player out. That’s no surprise. The rest of the inactives, we knew about. But the big intrigue surrounded the Eagles. CB Nnamdi Asomugha hyperextended his knee earlier in the week and needed to be carted off. But he was questionable, warming up before the game. Watching him closely, I would...

Patriots made a point to make Eagles one-dimensional

By Brian MacPhersonFOXBORO -- Sure, Vince Young threw for 400 yards against the Patriots on Sunday in Philadelphia. But Young and LeSean McCoy -- entering Sunday the NFL's top rusher -- combined for just 71 rushing yards on 16 carries, a sign that the Patriots were prepared to concede some passing yards if it meant they could take away the running game. "When you can...

By the Numbers: Pats Embarrass Hapless Birds

At the end of Sunday’s brutal 380-20 Patriots win over the Eagles two players were firmly seated on their respective benches. One was Pats QB Tom Brady, leader of an elite but far from perfect team, who took a rest after amassing a three-touchdown lead. The other was DeSean Jackson, talented underachiever on a league-basement team, who was benched for poor play while the Eagles...
