It has been reported that Randy Moss has broken his arm patting himself on the back. Meanwhile Jerry Rice has been unable to reach his own back, most likely due to the weight of the Super Bowl rings he has on his fingers.Randy Moss, the self-proclaimed greatest receiver ever to play the game, continued to be his own worst enemy Tuesday. "I think now that I'm older, I do think I'm the greatest receiver to ever do it, this year has been a down year for me, statistically. The year before I retired was a down year, and then in Oakland was a down year. I don't really live on numbers. I really live on impact and what you're able to do out on that field. I really do think that I'm the greatest receiver to ever play this game," Moss said Tuesday.Come on Randy, are you kidding me?Now if you had said “I think now that I'm older, I really regret not utilizing my God-given ability to become the greatest receiver to ever do it, this year has been a down year for me, statistically because I’m…well too old for this game. The year before I retired was a down year because I continually took off plays and didn’t give it one hundred percent , and then in Oakland it was a down year, and I became a cancer in the locker room. I don't really live on numbers. I really live on impact and what you're able to do out on that field. I really do think that Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver to ever play this game. But dang it… if I wasn’t so darn lazy, I could have been."Jerry Rice is widely regarded as the best wide receiver ever to play the game, but even he says he wasn’t the most talented. Randy Moss, Rice says, was more talented. The Difference is that Jerry Rice worked his butt off to become the best at his trade and his numbers prove it. “He could have been one of the greatest if he had worked just a little bit harder,” Rice said. “I don’t think he wanted to give it 100 percent. You never knew what you were going to get with Randy. Sometimes you’d get the unbelievable guy, the amazing guy. Other times you’d get the guy that took a couple plays off.”Jerry Rice knew he had to work for everything. Randy Moss simply existed with everything. There is no doubt Randy Moss is probably the most physically gifted WR in the history of the game. There are plenty of players who possess the physical ability to become Hall of Famers; however the mental aspect of the game is where players are separated, and that is why Jerry Rice is the greatest of all time, sorry to rain on your parade Randy. What is truly amazing is that Randy Moss is one of the greatest receivers to ever play the game, and he did it (by his own admission) not giving one hundred percent.
