Randy Moss figured to play a smaller role in San Francisco then he had in his previous NFL stops. No longer. Moss has moved up to the No. 2 spot on the 49ers depth chart. The reason of Moss’ promotion is injuries to Kyle Williams and Mario Manningham. Manningham tore his ACL and PCL, leaving him out for the season. Behind Moss on the depth chart will be rookie A.J. Green and Ted Ginn. Production from Moss has been minimal this season. He has not caught more then three passes since Week 1 and has reached 75 yards just once on the season. Expect the 49ers to target Vernon Davis more going forward. Davis has not been targeted more then three times since Week 11 when Colin Kaepernick took over the 49ers offense from Alex Smith. Davis caught six passes in that game, he has caught five since.

Little hope for Harbaugh’s Niners without Smith

Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone and without Justin Smith the San Francisco 49ers defense immediately becomes average. Since Smith left the game in the second half against the New England Patriots, the 49ers defense has given up 76 points. Let me repeat that – 76 points! That is just pathetic. If Smith doesn’t return for the playoffs the defense...

49ers Injury Report: Vernon Davis ‘Should Be Available’

With Manningham out, 49ers need others to step up

Mario Manningham limped through the locker room on crutches, holding a towel around his waist while trying to keep his head high and sport a smile. Jenkins could get opportunity this week

A.J. Jenkins' time is now. Following Sunday's season-ending knee injury to Mario Manningham, the 49ers' first-round pick finally figures to be a part of a game plan. He's been active three times this season, but has yet to catch a pass, while sitting behind the team's veteran stable of receivers. Jenkins has quietly gone about his business, trying to soak...

Vernon Davis Not Practicing Wednesday

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis, who suffered a concussion in the game against Seattle, is not practicing Wednesday.Fantasy Spin:Forty-Niners coach Jim Harbaugh called it minor and is optimistic that he will play on Sunday, but these days any concussion requires testing. Davis hasn't done much over the past four games catching a total of five passes for 56 yards and no scores.

Mario Manningham Done For Season

San Francisco receiver Mario Manningham's season came to an end in Week 16 after suffering an ACL injury.Fantasy Spin:Manningham wasn't a reliable every-week performer with Alex Smith or Colin Kaepernick under center. San Francisco 49ers vs. Seahawks Week 16 game balls & stats

We’re In! This team just continues to impress me. Now sitting at #2 all time in a three game scoring spree at 150 points! I said it before, but who in the hell stole my Seahawks and replaced them with real football players? Arizona, and Buffalo are one thing, but San Francisco was the unanimous “best team” in the league last week, and we just destroyed them tonight. Defense...

Jim Harbaugh denies honking at the Seahawks team bus
