Ras-I Dowling's 2012 season is ending the same way his 2011 season did -- with a trip to the IR. The Patriots announced Friday that they have placed Dowling on injured reserve with a thigh injury, thus ending the cornerback's season prematurely. Dowling appeared in six games this season, and started to see more playing time recently, but he left Sunday's victory over the Jets early and didn't return. This marks the second straight season that Dowling has been placed on injured reserve, as his rookie campaign was cut short after just two games because of a hip injury that later required surgery. The severity of Dowling's injury at this point is unclear, but the team obviously felt it was serious enough to use the IR. As you may recall, New England already used its short-term injured reserve designation on tight end Visanthe Shiancoe. Dowling, a second-round pick of the Patriots in 2011, will have to wait until next season to make an impact. Ag...

The Patriots are going to make the playoffs. The big question is, how far will they go? A look at their remaining schedule and the AFC East

The Patriots are still the best franchise in the AFC.  The problem is that their weaknesses are the same every season.  They have a weak defense and no deep threat on the outside.  Last year they tried to use Chad Johnson and this year is Lloyd, neither are helping out.  The defense is young and can be exposed.  How far can they go? Here's a look at their remaining schedule...

Tom Brady Ensures that Patriots' Visit to London Isn't Sightseeing Mission (Video)

The Patriots' jaunte across the pond to England is not a vacation -- Tom Brady is making that clear. After a six hour flight that moved the team's collective watch five hours ahead, however, the Patriots actually did head out for a romp in the park. While the Rams practiced in a field at their hotel, New England took to London's famous -- and very public...

Rob Gronkowski spikes mic in London at fans’ request (Video)

Rob Gronkowski is a crowd pleaser if nothing else. The Patriots tight end was addressing fans in Trafalgar Square in London on Saturday ahead of New England’s game against the St. Louis Rams when he began receiving calls to “spike the mic!” Gronk started laughing, stopped talking about the Rams, took one look at the mic in his right hand, and happily obliged with a vicious...

Patriots Fantasy Football: It's time for Brandon Lloyd to hit the bench

Brandon Lloyd has been a disappointment thus far in the season in more ways than one for Patriot fans. And although Lloyd's spectacular sideline grabs may temporarily blind Pats fans from his other weaknesses, his inability to catch easy passes almost cost New England the game against the Jets last week. Lloyd dropped two passes over the middle that would've gone for big...

Will a real AFC football team please stand up…  I understand Halloween is around the corner and everyone is trying to changeup their identity, but after the first seven weeks of the NFL season, it feels like every team from the American Football Conference has been celebrating Halloween earlier than scheduled. From the 16 teams that...

According to the New England Patriots official Facebook page, the Pats arrived at Heathrow Airport in London 10 minutes ago, at 2:18 a.m., Eastern time. Below is a photo that the Patriots Facebook and Instagram accounts uploaded yesterday, prior to Vince Wilfork and the team's flight to England.

Vote: How Many Passing Yards Will Sam Bradford Throw for in Sunday's Game Against the Patriots?

The Patriots secondary has been the brunt of recent coverage jokes, and rightfully so. The Pats have given up 290 yards of offense through the air per game, ranking them as the fourth-worst team in the NFL in that category. The three teams beneath them are the Saints, Buccaneers and Redskins, who have a combined record of 7-12. Yet, with all of their defensive woes, New England sits...
