The Pittsburgh Steelers have made Jonathan Dwyer their new starting running back and have demoted Rashard Mendenhall to third string.  Isaac Redman will back up Dwyer. There’s no doubt though that Dwyer has been the Steelers’ best back this season, which is why he deserves to be their starter.   var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

NFL Rumors: 2012 Will Be Last Season For Rashard Mendenhall With Pittsburgh Steelers

Many people figured that going into the 2012 NFL season, it could be the final year we see Rashard Mendenhall in a Pittsburgh Steelers uniform. It had little to do with the fact that he was coming off of a major knee injury from the end of last season, but the team made little effort to lock him up to a long term deal even before the injury. With Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman in...

Pittsburgh Steelers and the number 7

The number seven has much significance in the city of Pittsburgh. There are many connections, large and small, good and bad, obvious and not-so-obvious. Regardless of their nature, all these connections are pointed at the most important seven, Super Bowl Championship No. 7. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wears number seven. Demotion of Mike Wallace and Rashard Mendenhall is the right choice

Mike Tomlin’s weekly presser was filled with all sorts of Tomlinisms as per usual, and as we outlined previously, there are many players hoping to come back this Sunday against the Ravens in a key AFC North showdown for both teams. One nugget that created a buzz was the demotion, of sorts, of receiver Mike Wallace and running back Rashard Mendenhall. Something that in my mind has...
