We have breaking news here, people, and it cannot wait until tomorrow. Ok, mainly because I already have an article scheduled and I don’t see a reason to move it back so you’re getting one of those fresh off the presses releases. It’s looking more and more like Rashard Mendenhall will begin the year on the PUP list and that doesn’t mean he’s getting put in an animal shelter for adoption. It looks like he’ll be missing at least the first six games of the season with plenty of room for missing more. He went down with a torn ACL in week 17 last season which means we shouldn’t be surprised by this move though it does mean we need to examine his back-up from last year, Isaac Redman. Redman stepped up the week Rashard went down, carrying the ball 19 times for 92 yards and a rushing TD to go with 3 receptions and 18 yards. He followed that performance up in the playoffs with 121 yards on 17 attempts, chipping in 21 yards on 2 receptions. Now obviously we cannot glean too much from a...

Is Today The Last Birthday That Rashard Mendenhall Will Celebrate As A Steeler?
Today Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall celebrates his 25th birthday and you have to wonder if it is the last one that he will have as a member of the black and gold.
Mendenhall, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, more than likely will start the 2012 season on the PUP list as he continues to rehab the torn ACL he suffered in the regular season...
Mike Wallace Tweets That He Will Be With Steeler Nation In 2012
On Monday, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace accidentally retweeted a tweet on Twitter from a troller stating that he would not be with the Steelers this season. His mistake must have prompted a pretty good response on the social media platform as he has since deleted the retweet and posted a response stating: "Didn't mean to retweet that I will be with #steelernation...
Pittsburgh Steelers expect Rashard Mendenhall to start season on PUP list
Coming off an ACL tear he sustained on January 1, the Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for RB Rashard Mendenhall to start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Mendenhall has told reporters numerous times this offseason that he intends to be ready to play Week One of the 2012 regular season but the Steelers organization is preparing as if he won’t be available....
Pittsburgh Steelers: Isaac Redman Will Carry Offense Early On
Steelers starting running back Rashard Mendenhall suffered a torn ACL in week 17 of last season. The injury hurt the back’s chances at his third consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season. Mendenhall finished with 928 yards in 2011.
His chances of returning to 1,000 rushing yards this season are also dwindling as Pittsburgh’s GM Kevin Colbert guesses Mendenhall will start the...
Rashard Mendenhall will likely miss the first six weeks of the season
Getty Images
Peter King of SI.com believes that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall should miss at least the first six games of the season as he continues to recover from ACL surgery.
Since Mendenhall tore his ACL at the end of the 2011 regular season, Id be really surprised if he has any type of impact for the Steelers this coming season. Ligament tears typically...
Ryan Clark Tried To Warn Everyone About The Absolute Power Of Roger Goodell
The Pittsburgh Steelers as a team voted against ratifying the new CBA last summer and now it appears several players across the league wished they had done the same.
Jim Corbett of the USA Today reported on Monday that Kansas City Chiefs right tackle Eric Winston expressed deep regret to his medium that the NFLPA didn't do more to curb the disciplinary and appeal powers of commissioner...

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Mewelde Moore is no longer unemployed as Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay announced a short time ago on Twitter that the Colts had signed the free agent running back.

Some thoughts On Roethlisberger and Father’s Day
It’s often funny how you grow up with the players you love in the National Football League. Perhaps a better way of saying it is that it’s fun to watch them grow before your eyes year in and year out.
When Ben Roethlisberger was drafted in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers there was but one thing on the mind of every person in the Steelers Nation...
Former Steeler Moore joins Arians in Indy
Former Pittsburgh Steeler Mewelde Moore signed with the Indianapolis Colts today. The signing reunites Moore with former Steelers’ offensive coordinator Bruce Arians who now has the same position with Indy.
While never a game-changer, Moore did an excellent job in Pittsburgh in his role as a third down specialist. With Baron Batch expected back from his ACL injury and the addition...
Big Ben Shuns Suggestions To “Tweak” His Playing Style
Say what you will about Ben Roethlisberger. But I have a hard time believing that anyone will disagree he is the toughest quarterback in the league. His playing style – holding the ball, scrambling, shrugging off would be tacklers, basically reckless abandon – is tailor made for Pittsburgh. It could also be tailor made for destruction. Steelers president, Art Rooney II, suggested...

Morning Huddle - Bountygate ends this week (probably)
So that's why the NFL won't release the Bountygate evidence.
Later today, Roger Goodell will hear the final appeals of four players punished by the league for their involvement in Bountygate. Goodell will almost certainly decide to uphold his own punishment, and we will finally be able to put the scandal in our rear view mirror, hopefully by the end of the week. The NFLPA...
