SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Arizona Rattlers held the San Antonio Talons to their lowest point total of the season, allowing just three touchdowns, as they picked up the 70-21 victory on Saturday night at the Alamodome in front of 8,047. The Talons offense was no match for a Rattlers defense that finished with six interceptions and a fumble recovery. Arkeith Brown snagged three picks on the night while Jeremy Kellem accounted for two, including one returned for a TD, and Marquis Floyd capped off the game with a takeaway in the final minute. Rattlers QB Nick Davila went 18 for 27 for 290 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Arizona offense. Backup Jason Murrietta replaced Davila in the third quarter and went 5 of 5 for 43 yards and three TDs. Jared Perry and Kerry Reed had seven catches each, with Perry finding the end zone three times and Reed twice. Rod Windsor also got in on the scoring barrage with four receptions for three TDs. The Rattlers (11-1) jumped out to a commanding 35-0 lead before the Talons (5-6) finally got in the board with 27 seconds to play in the first half, making it 35-7 at the break. San Antonio added one more touchdown in each of the third and fourth quarters, but it wasn't nearly enough. Receiver Brent Holmes, fullback Chad Cook and quarterback Nick Fanuzzi accounted for the three scores. With their eighth straight win, the Rattlers improved to 11-1 on the season, tying the 1996 start for the best in franchise history. The Rattlers return home next Saturday to take on the Shock in hopes of avenging their only loss of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Arizona time at US Airways Center.
