BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Ravens brushed off a three-game losing streak with relative ease, clinching their second straight AFC North title in the process. The Giants, meanwhile, left themselves with an uphill climb to avoid missing the postseason a year after winning the Super Bowl. Joe Flacco threw for 309 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, and the Ravens produced a season-high 533 yards of offensive in a 33-14 rout of the Giants on Sunday. With the win, the Ravens locked up their division and ensured themselves of at least one home playoff game. They entered Sunday having dropped three straight for the first time since 2009, but responded with one of their best all-around games of the season. "I'm as proud of this team as ever," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. "This is a really special group of men. How far we take each other, we'll find out. That remains to be seen. ... For them to earn a [division] championship like this means a lot." The Giants dropped their second straight game, delivering another blow to their playoff hopes. The defending Super Bowl champions are out of the running for the NFC East title and must beat the Eagles next week and get some help in order to earn a wild card berth. Over their two-game slide, the Giants have been outscored 77-14. This comes after they beat the Saints 52-27 three games ago. "What has happened over the course of the last couple of weeks is very difficult to explain," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said. "We had a resounding win against New Orleans and felt real good about ourselves, and then I have no explanation as to why we're in the position that we're in." Four Ravens had at least 50 receiving yards, led by wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who had seven catches for 93 yards. Torrey Smith added 88 yards and a touchdown, and running back Ray Rice had 158 total yards from scrimmage and a score. Rookie running back Bernard Pierce put up a career-high 123 rushing yards for the Ravens, who had 224 yards on the ground. "We knew what was at stake," Rice said. "This was a championship game for us. Solidfied a home playoff game, back-to-back division champs. That's huge around here." A week after allowing 34 points in a blowout loss to the Broncos, the Ravens held the Giants to 186 total yards and 2-of-10 on third downs. Eli Manning went 14-for-28 for 150 yards and a touchdown, and Reuben Randle led the Giants with 43 receiving yards. The Ravens opened the scoring midway through the first quarter, with Flacco finding Smith for a six-yard touchdown pass on Baltimore's opening drive of the game. It was Smith's eighth touchdown of the season and his first since Nov. 11 against the Raiders. A 43-yard Smith reception on the Ravens' next possession put the ball on the Giants' 1-yard line, and two plays later, Flacco scored on a quarterback sneak to give Baltimore an early 14-0 lead. "I think we just didn't come to play today," running back Ahmad Bradshaw said. "We had a late start, and we couldn't get it going after that." David Wilson cut that lead in half less than three minutes after the Flacco touchdown, scampering for a 14-yard touchdown that made it 14-7. The Ravens then ran off 10 unanswered points to close the half, with Justin Tucker booting a 23-yard field goal and Rice adding a 27-yard touchdown catch to make it 24-7 at the break. Notes: Flacco has 3,783 passing yards on the season, already a new career high. His previous career best was 3,622 yards, set back in 2010. ... The Giants played without Pro Bowl defensive end Justin Tuck, who missed the game with a shoulder injury. ... With Sunday's output, the Ravens broke a team record for most points scored at home in a single season with 254.
