It's not too often a team dominates another team with such a one-sided streak. But that is exactly what the Baltimore Ravens have over the Cleveland Browns. Baltimore has beaten Cleveland 11 straight times, and though this game was a fairly close battle for the duration, Baltimore came away with the win again. The Hero of the Game belongs to the Baltimore Ravens defense as a unit. Playing without a few starters on defense, including their leader and perennial All-Pro middle-linebacker Ray Lewis; the Ravens defense managed to keep the Browns offense at bay all afternoon in Cleveland. In fact, Baltimore kept the Browns offense out of the end zone all afternoon; relegating Cleveland to kicking field goals instead of scoring touchdowns. The Baltimore defense picked off Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden twice, and generally made life tough for the Browns offense. The Ravens defense did give up over a 100 yards rushing to Browns beastly rookie running back Trent Richard...

Weeden has no comment on three burned timeouts

I believe Jeff Schudel asked Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden what the cause of using three timeouts because the team seemingly couldn’t get a call in by the end of the play clock. Weeden quickly said, “I’m not.. I’m not going to comment on that.” Then he gave this look. Who knows why Weeden wouldn’t comment, but you have to think that if he thought it was...

Weeden having growing pains as Browns rookie QB

Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden understands that frustration and scrutiny come with the territory. He also knows he needs to improve at handling both. Weeden said Wednesday that he's disappointed that he hasn't been able to lead the young Browns (2-7) to more victories. Cleveland has been competitive but Weeden said ''we've come up short too many times...

Peter King loves Phil Dawson too

There’s just no doubting how great Phil Dawson is at this point, and Peter King has his ticket for the bandwagon. Twenty-three straight field goals, 21 of them this year, and his consecutive kicks of 32, 28, 29, 33 and 41 in a 32-minute span between the second and fourth quarters gave the Browns a 15-14 lead late against Baltimore. Dawson’s an unsung player, in part because...

Browns to be featured in Travel Channel series

As it is, the Browns are hardly must-see television; quite the opposite, in fact. But that stands to change, thanks to the influence of new ownership. According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, Dee Haslam, wife of owner Jimmy Haslam, is teaming up her production company RIVR Media with NFL Films to bring a Browns-centric documentary series to Travel Channel. Premiering December...

Sporting News players’ poll: Browns are the worst organization

The Sporting News asked 103 NFL players to share their opinion, and the answers given aren’t flattering of the Cleveland Browns or their fans. The Browns got 20 votes, narrowly beating the Raiders (19) and the Jaguars (19) for the title of worst organization in the NFL. Jacksonville WR Cecil Shorts added this comment with his vote- “Cleveland Browns They don’t give anybody...

D’Qwell Jackson: Poor execution is “tale of the Browns’ season”

It’s the tale of the season so far: We get so close and we start the week off with so much confidence and, for whatever reason when the game’s on the line, whether it’s defensively or offensively, we can’t seem to make that play. For a while, in the first half, it got out of our hands defensively, but we were able to settle down, make some corrections and adjustments, and...

Flacco's TD pass leads Ravens over Browns 25-15

Joe Flacco threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Torrey Smith with 4:26 left as the Baltimore Ravens won their 11th straight game inside the AFC North with a 25-15 comeback victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Smith caught Flacco's strike and spun away from cornerback Joe Haden as the Ravens (6-2) beat the Browns (2-7) for the 10th consecutive time. It was also Baltimore...

Nevermore: Shurmurball hits new nadir in home loss to Ravens

“The Browns’ locker room was transformed into Believeland this week, with confidence and optimism permeating the air as if it had been spritzed out of the automatic air-fresheners.” — Mary Kay Cabot “The vibe is really good. We really believe we can beat the Ravens, not just come close. They’re a good team, but we feel like they’re ripe to be beat.” — Josh Cribbs...

Romeo Crennel Fires Himself As Defensive Coordinator

In a surprising move, but one which we applaud, Romeo Crennel managed to fire himself today from defensive coordinator duties in an effort to turn around the sinking ship that is the Cleveland Browns. Even though they have a 1-7 record, the Browns can at least hang their hat on the fact that they have had a record breaking season thus far. The Chiefs became the first team since the...

Ravens fall behind in fourth quarter

The Ravens haven’t done anything on offense since the first quarter. Cleveland has taken advantage of it. The Browns have taken a 15-14 lead in the fourth quarter. The Ravens were off to a fast start, but this game has been all Cleveland since.

Race for the AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens

Can the Baltimore Ravens hear those footsteps? It’s the sound of the Pittsburgh Steelers breathing down their neck after the Steelers pulled off a stellar victory over one of the NFC’s best teams, the New York Giants. The two teams appear to be heading in opposite directions. The Steelers have lost versus two lackluster opponents (Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders) by a field...

The Ravens have some tough assignments to worry about on the road against Cleveland. In addition, RavensInsider.com offers a prediction as to what happens Sunday afternoon.
