The Ravens started this season the same way they started last season – by blowing out an AFC North opponent. Baltimore used offense, defense and special teams to beat the Bengals 44-13 Monday night.
Joe Flacco was spectacular throwing two touchdowns on 21 of 29 passing for 299 yards.
Ray Rice also got in the end zone, but only ran for 68 yards on 10 carries.
Ed Reed returned an interception for a touchdown.
Rookie kicker Justin Tucker booted three field goals.
It doesn’t look like the Ravens have too many weaknesses, but we’ll find out more about the team next week when they face the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to Rotoworld.com, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported that the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco are very close to getting an extension completed.
“Joe Flacco and the Ravens made ‘great progress’ toward an extension in camp, and ‘one phone call might be enough to get it done.’ La Canfora reports the monetary gap between the sides is ‘not great...
Flacco Making Push for Fantasy Football Stardom
When you think of the top quarterbacks in fantasy football, the Ravens’ Joe Flacco does not automatically come to mind. That’s because a typical Baltimore team wins on defense, not offense, and the Ravens’ Ray Rice is really the offensive star of the team, at least from fantasy football standards. The Ravens, however, made a [...]

Flacco leads Ravens past Bengals
BALTIMORE -- One game into the 2012 season, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco stated his case for a long-term, multi-million dollar contract. Flacco was 21-for-29 and threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns in Baltimore's 44-13 win over Cincinnati on Monday. John Harbaugh on Joe Flacco: ‘Pay him whatever he wants’
If the Ravens front office was looking for leverage in contract negotiations with Joe Flacco, they found none this week. Baltimore is expected to give Flacco more freedom this season and let him run the no-huddle offense, and he turned that freedom into 21-for-29 passing, 299 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 44-13 win over Cincinnati Monday night. He also got the ultimate...
Ravens, Rice open season against Bengals
After a delightful summer in which he carried the ball only 10 times in the preseason, Ray Rice is ready for some Monday Night football.
''It's sort of like that refreshing feeling, like the first day of school when you want to wear your new clothes,'' the Baltimore Ravens running back said. ''That's what Monday night is. You put on your best outfit...

Bengals match worst opening loss ever
The Bengals viewed their first game as a chance to show they've made big strides in the offseason. Instead, they matched the worst season-opening loss in franchise history.
The defense was shredded during a 44-13 loss in Baltimore on Monday night that demonstrated there's still a big gap between them and the elite in the AFC North. Joe Flacco threw for 299 yards in little...
Ravens 44, Bengals 13
BALTIMORE - The Ravens' offense was nothing short of explosive in its 44-13 victory over Cincinnati on Monday night. Baltimore tallied 430 total yards of offense, which included a stellar performance from quarterback Joe Flacco. Flacco, operating out of a no-huddle offense, completed 21 of 29 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns. Baltimore's 44 points are the third...
"Is Joe Flacco an elite QB?" - the question nobody is asking
"Sure he's elite, of course he is… he's the best quarterback I've ever been around." - Ravens coach John Harbaugh
"… of course Harbaugh said that he thinks his quarterback is elite. What else would he say? Flacco played very well, but he has to do this consistently to be in the same league as Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and the...
Ravens-Eagles Preview
A late game-winning drive salvaged an otherwise dreadful Week 1 for Michael Vick.
Joe Flacco was brilliant for virtually all 60 minutes.
Vick could be facing an unfriendly home crowd if his performance is much like the season opener, and Philadelphia Eagles fans would only be more temperamental if Flacco and the new-look Baltimore Ravens offense have another big game Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens: 2012 Week 2 Power Rankings (#14)
Last week: 15 (+1)
Record: 1-0
This is the first in 4 straight controversial rankings. Two of my early season bold predictions, Titans over Ravens and Rams over 49ers, took a hit on an otherwise solid week 1, but I hate to change predictions after 1 week. I’d rather be wrong than flip flop because I think I’m wrong and then be proven right. Everyone is wrong about stuff. If I’m...
Ravens lead the Bengals 17-10 at the half
The offense is dynamic and the defense has held the Bengals to just a single touchdown.
Joe Flacco has been fantastic going 12-for-15 for 183 yards and a touchdown in the first half.
The two biggest plays of the half have come from Torrey Smith, who caught a 52-yard pass on the game’s opening play, and Anquan Boldin, who caught the lone touchdown from Flacco.
Ray Rice scored the...
