Ravens, Browns players trade barbs after Myles Garrett's record extension

The Cleveland Browns took care of some major off-season business earlier this month, signing star defensive end Myles Garrett to a record-breaking five-year, $125 million extension.

The deal was largely met with applause from the NFL world. Garrett, 24, has recorded 65 quarterback hits and 30.5 sacks in three seasons despite being suspended for the final six games of the 2019 campaign after an ugly incident against Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Despite the positive responses to Garrett’s new contract, one player on the Baltimore Ravens is not necessarily buying into it. Wide receiver Willie Snead blasted Cleveland for the extension on social media.

Meanwhile, Browns rookie second-round pick Grant Delpit responded in kind.

It’s now been over eight months since Garrett took off Rudolph’s helmet and hit the quarterback in the head with it. Despite this, it doesn’t look like the Browns’ division rivals are over it.

That could lead to some rather interesting games in the AFC North once the 2020 NFL season gets going Sept. 10.
