Manish Mehta of the Daily News is reporting that the Baltimore Ravens have claimed former Jets safety Emanuel Cook, who was cut by the team yesterday. I guess this is giving us a taste of our own medicine.  When Rex became head coach, he brought along Mike Pettine and Dennis Thurman, who were previously on the Ravens coaching staff.  Furthermore, Rex has made it a habit of signing former Ravens players such as Bart Scott, Jim Leonhard, Trevor Pryce and Derrick Mason. In any case, Cook is in an ideal situation, learning from Ed Reed, arguably the best safety in NFL history. I wish Emanuel nothing but the best, as he embarks on the next chapter of his NFL career.

Jets Aaron Maybin records 2 sacks against former team

Not to be lost in the New York Jets 28-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday was the performance of linebacker Aaron Maybin who, in addition to recording two sacks against his former team, provided overall Mayhem to the Buffalo offense with … [visit site to read more]Jets Aaron Maybin records 2 sacks against former team - The Jet Press - The Jet Press - A New York Jets Fan...

DeVito Doubtful Against Redskins

With the Jets taking on rookie phenom Roy Helu and the Washington Redskins, the team is going to need all the help they can get to stop the running game.  The bad news though is that the team looks to be without Mike DeVito, yet again, after an injury setback Sunday that has kept him from playing much of the past month. Rex Ryan said that Jets DT Mike DeVito will likely not play...

Rob Ryan as a head coach? Players soundoff

IRVING -- Since Jack Del Rio was fired as head coach of the Jaguars on Tuesday, there has been speculation that Rob Ryan could be a head coaching candidate in Jacksonville. There is no evidence stating there's interest from the Jaguars, but hiring Ryan wouldn't be a huge surprise. "He's a Ryan, so he has the pedigree, his whole family's been coaching, everybody...

Transcript: Plaxico, Holmes, Keller 11/27

New York Jets WR Plaxico Burress, 11.27 On his third down catch on the final offensive drive… It was an all-out blitz by Buffalo.  He (Mark Sanchez) just looked at me and gave me the signal.  I didn’t think Sanchez was going to throw it. On the difficulty of his third down grab… It was just a regular catch to me.  The goal is to haul them all in and just try to find a way...

Jim Leonhard 'disappointed' in Jets fans for booing Mark Sanchez in pre-game introductions on Sunday

Jim Leonhard left no secret that he wasn’t happy with the boobirds directed at Mark Sanchez before the Jets’ 28-24 win to the Bills on Sunday. The veteran safety, one of the most well-respected and fan-friendly players on Rex Ryan’s team, admitted on Tuesday that he took exception to the fans’ ...

Transcript: QB Mark Sanchez 11/27

On the third down catch that Plaxico Burress made… I don’t know if words do it justice. It was a big time catch in a crucial situation and it really gave us a chance to take the lead there and either have a gimme field goal or go for the lead like we ended up doing. So if that doesn’t happen we have a real long field goal ahead of us, and he just made it a lot easier on our...

Jets' DeVito out vs. Redskins with knee sprain

The Jets will begin their December playoff chase without defensive tackle Mike DeVito, who sprained his left knee in Sunday's 28-24 win over the Buffalo Bills.

The Mark Sanchez Meter: Week 12

You couldn't swing a dead cat this summer without hitting someone telling you that it was imperative that Mark Sanchez showed marked improvement as a quarterback this season. Because of that we thought we'd check in weekly to see how the Sanchize is progressing toward that goal. On last week's episode of Modern Family, a character shot down one of her husband's...

Don’t Judge Stevie Johnson’s Touchdown Dance

Stevie Johnson‘s touchdown celebration was in poor taste. But so what? Most player celebrations are in poor taste. After scoring a touchdown against the Jets yesterday Johnson celebrated by mimicking Plaxico Burress shooting himself in the thigh and mocking Santonio Holmes‘ Jet celebration (he crashed his Jet). I’ve never been a fan of touchdown dances [...]

A look back at the Jets' 28-24 win against the Bills

The Jets were both lucky and good in comeback win

Jets-Redskins Preview

Though the New York Jets are very much alive for a playoff spot in the AFC, they know their overall play must improve in order for them to actually reach the postseason. Looking to build off a much-needed victory, the Jets try for some rare success against the Washington Redskins on Sunday at FedEx Field. New York (6-5) avoided a third consecutive loss by rallying for a 28-24 home...

Ravens-Browns Preview

The Baltimore Ravens are well aware of their letdowns suffered against weaker foes on the road following quality victories. A dominating season-opening win over Pittsburgh was followed by a loss at Tennessee in Week 2. A victory over Houston in Week 6 preceded a defeat at lowly Jacksonville the following Monday night, and completing a season sweep of the Steelers on Nov. 6 quickly...
