ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported prior to the Super Bowl that Ravens free-agent S Ed Reed could be on the way to Indianapolis, where he would be reunited with head coach Chuck Pagano. Pro Football Weekly hears that connection makes a ton of sense, as the Colts sorely lacked a playmaker on the back end of the defense a season ago, and Reed and Pagano have a strong relationship. However, the scuttlebutt could be Reed’s contract demands. If he is looking for a long-term deal, it isn’t likely to come from the Colts, who won’t be willing to invest heavily on an aging, albeit future Hall of Fame safety, like Reed, who has had injury issues creep up of late. NFL Teams Already Discussed The Idea Of Pursuing Joe Flacco If The Ravens Use Non-Exclusive Tag?

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, teams around the league have already been “contemplating” the idea of making a run at Ravens QB Joe Flacco should they place the non-exclusive franchise tag on him. The non-exclusive franchise tag would allow an NFL team to part with first-round draft picks in the event that they’re able to reach an agreement with the player...

Report: Joe Flacco May Not Receive Exclusive-Rights Franchise Tag From Ravens

The Ravens have three options with Joe Flacco: give him a long-term contract, franchise him or give him the exclusive-rights franchise tag. If they give him the exclusive rights franchise tag, it would cost the team $20 million, but Flacco could not negotiate with other teams. If he’s franchised, he’d earn $14.5 million, but another team would almost certainly swoop in and offer...

Ray Rice: ‘Joe Flacco is the best quarterback in football right now’

Barring any shocking revelations that lead to some sort of scandal like Bounty-gate one year ago, the biggest story of the NFL offseason will probably be centered around just how much Joe Flacco ends up receiving in his new contract from the Baltimore Ravens. After all, Flacco just put together a historically great postseason run that led to the Ravens second Super Bowl title in...

Due a big salary in 2013 on a cap-strapped team can lead to the releasing of veterans that teams don’t necessarily want to release. One of those veterans for the Ravens is Anquan Boldin. The wide receiver, 32, caught six passes in the Super Bowl including the game’s first touchdown and a big pickup on a third-and-1 in the fourth quarter. According to this report, Boldin would...

Bend, Don’t Break: Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl Defense

The Baltimore Ravens allowed 468 yards of total offense in Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers, the most ever by a winning team in the NFL’s championship game. This was odd considering the historical perception of the Ravens as a team led by a strong defense, but not for this year’s edition, which was better statistically on offense than defense for only the third...
