The Baltimore Ravens have acquired center A.Q. Shipley from the Indianapolis Colts for a conditional 2014 draft pick.
The tradel, announced Thursday by the Ravens, will be finalized after Shipley passes a physical.
Shipley played in 14 games last season with the Colts, getting five starts. He participated on special teams for Indianapolis in an AFC wild-card game in Baltimore last season.
The 6-foot-1, 309-pound Shipley was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 draft by Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Steelers' practice squad in 2009 and on Philadelphia's practice squad in 2010 before signing with Indianapolis in 2012.
He played in college at Penn State.
Shipley will compete with Gino Gradkowski to replace 2012 starter Matt Birk, who retired during the offseason.

The former Penn State center did not make the Steelers 53 man roster out of training camp in 2009, but he showed enough during the preseason to warrant him being signed to the...

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there's a real chance that troubled linebacker Rolando McClain might be released by the Baltimore Ravens.
Citing that everyone deserves a second chance, Ravens assistant GM Eric DeCosta explained their reasoning for signing McClain on Monday, who was arrested yet again, this time for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest,...
According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain plead guilty to a window tint violation that occurred down in Decatur, Alabama. After pleading guilty, the city decided to dismiss the charge of providing false information to police. McClain is still due back in court on July 9th after recently being arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. We reported...

Indianapolis signed six of its seven draft picks Thursday and added one more undrafted rookie on the eve of a three-day rookie mini-camp.
The Colts said they have signed offensive linemen Hugh Thornton and Khaled Holmes, their third and fourth-round picks; fifth-rounder Montori Hughes, a defensive tackle; safety John Boyett, a sixth-round choice; and two seventh-round picks, Kerwynn...
In my eyes, there is no question that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is still the best in the AFC North, and most certainly still better than Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens. I have been called a biased homer for this being a Steelers fan, especially since Flacco won a Super Bowl and signed a gigantic contract extension. However, the Baltimore Sun recently...
Baltimore Ravens, FALLING: The Ravens have been losing some of their best players this offseason, and this season's Ravens won't be the same team that won the Super Bowl earlier this year. Still, the Ravens will be a good football team, but it's hard to imagine them sniffing a repeat without the help of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed or Anquan Boldin, to name a few. Playing in a...
It’s been two months since we first heard, upon Anquan Boldin’s departure to San Francisco, that Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta would benefit from the absence of Joe Flacco’s security blanket.
It’s immediately clear to anyone who watched the Ravens’ (sometimes brutally bad) offense in 2012 why Pitta would be the beneficiary of Boldin’s exit from Baltimore. Pitta...
