Stacey Dales of the NFL Network is reporting that the Baltimore Ravens have hired former Saints’ DC Steve Spagnuolo as a Senior Defensive Assistant. Spagnuolo was fired by the Saints just one day after Sean Payton returned from his yearlong suspension. He held the Saints defensive coordinator position for one season, which resulted in a historically bad performance. Spagnuolo has had a difficult time recreating the success that his defensive units had in New York before he departed to become the head coach of the Rams. Dales notes that Spagnuolo spent eight working with Ravens HC John Harbaugh while in Philadelphia, so this seems like a pretty good landing spot for him.
