The Baltimore Ravens continue to take injury hit after
injury hit to their defense, as starting linebacker Jameel McClain has been
diagnosed with a spinal cord contusion. The team has said that the injury will
sideline the linebacker for the remainder of the season, reports Ryan Mink of
The Ravens’ linebacker corps is down another player, this
time for the remainder of the season.
Inside linebacker Jameel McClain has a spinal cord
contusion, Head Coach John Harbaugh announced Monday afternoon.
McClain sustained his neck injury two weeks ago while
attempting to tackle Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris. He’s since
seen two specialists regarding the injury, but it’s been confirmed that he’s
dealing with a season-ending ailment.
Ravens coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters that the team is
considering signing another free agent linebacker to fill the roster spot left
vacant by McClain. Linebackers Ray Lewis and Dannell Ellerbe continue to
recover from injury.
