It’s been some time since NFL free agency began, and yet the Baltimore Ravens and offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie have still yet to agree on a new contract.
The 33-year-old mauler is reportedly scheduled to visit the Miami Dolphins Monday. Should he sign with Miami or any other club for that matter, the defending Super Bowl champions would have to make moves to accommodate the loss of their left tackle.
One option as a potential replacement to McKinnie is ex-Eagles tackle Demetress Bell. Bell, 28, was let go by Philadelphia in early February before his massive $8.5 million roster bonus was due. He only appeared in limited action last season for the Eagles in 2012.
McKinnie very well could be the best free agent left tackle on the open market currently, but his age is certainly a concern. Despite leading the Ravens to the promise land last season, it would be wise for the Baltimore franchise to take this opportunity to get younger at one of the most important positions on the grid iron.
