At times, it didn't appear the Ravens and their dominant defensive tackle, Haloti Ngata, would get a deal done. That changed Tuesday afternoon at about 3 o'clock.
Ngata and the Ravens agreed to a five-year extension worth $61 million, multiple media outlets are reporting. Of the $61 million, $40 million is guaranteed in the first two years, according to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.
Wilson is also reporting Ngata received a $25 million signing bonus.
Ngata has been Baltimore's best defensive player for the last two seasons so getting him signed was a priority.
With Ngata's deal done, the Ravens can focus on extending both quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Ray Rice this offseason.
