The Baltimore Ravens announced that they have released veteran S Michael Huff and DE Marcus Spears. The Ravens signed safties Omar Brown and Brynden Trawick to their active roster. Both Huff and Spears were signed to contracts this offseason in the hope that they would help to solidify their rebuilt defense. Huff, 30, signed a three-year contract worth $6 million, which also included a $1.5 million signing bonus. Huff has only contributed just four tackles this season and was even benched for a game. In fact, Huff hasn’t played a single snap since Week 4. Spears, 30, signed a two-year deal worth $2.75 million, which included a $600,000 signing bonus. Spears was losing playing time to third-round pick DT Brandon Williams and he was forced to miss a few games with a knee injury. Spears totaled 10 tackles on the year.
