According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Baltimore Ravens aren’t very confident that they’ll be able to re-sign free agent safety Ed Reed. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/314448203070193665 I just don’t see how the Ravens can afford Reed.  They’re currenly $9 million over the salary cap, but will need some of that money to sign their rookies in the upcoming draft. I believe the Texans remain the front-runners to land Reed.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

Ed Reed rumors: Deciding between Texans, Ravens

Safety Ed Reed remains unsigned, and it appears his decision on where to play next season and beyond has come down to two teams, the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. The Ravens are reportedly still in play for Reed. However, their real interest in re-signing the veteran is unknown, as is their ability to fit him into their already tight budget. Baltimore has had to watch several...

The Houston Texans showed Ed Reed some southern hospitality last week during his visit to the city, but the two parties went their separate ways without a deal. The Texans showed Reed hospitality, but didn’t show him the money.  The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Texans offered Reed a three-year $12 million deal, and that’s not good enough for Reed.  The two sides...

I think Mike Loyko of NEPatriotsDraft summed it up well:  I would have loved Ed Reed in New...

Ed Reed.... Not to the Patriots: Reaction

Today, Ed Reed will be introduced to the Houston media in a press conference. In a lot of ways I wish that he was being introduced in a New England press conference today, but overall I think we’re better off with Adrian Wilson. The inconsistent, and at times dreadful, play of Steven Gregory and Pat Chung is what lead to most of the huge plays over the top. McCourty’s side...

Report: Ed Reed Agrees to Two-Year Deal With Houston Texans

The Houston Texans just couldn’t figure out how to defend Tom Brady and the Patriots’ passing attack in 2012. So, they’re enlisting a new enforcer to help get them over the hump.
