PLAYERS: Joe Flacco
TEAMS: Baltimore Ravens
For years, the Baltimore Ravens have tried - without success - to put together an offense that could match the play of its esteemed defense. They hoped that several offseason moves and the maturation of quarterback Joe Flacco would make a difference this season. For a few weeks, the offense was rather productive. Then came Monday night's performance in Jacksonville, a stinker of historical proportions that showed just how far the unit has to go to help the team fulfill its Super Bowl aspirations. The Ravens didn't make a first down in the first half, converted only two of 12 third-down opportunities and managed only 146 yards, including a franchise-record low 16 yards before halftime in a 12-7 defeat that dropped Baltimore (4-2) from first place in the AFC North.

Will The Real Joe Flacco Please Stand Up?

Joe Flacco’s worst game of the season, before a nationally televised audience no less, left serious questions on whether or not he is a good enough quarterback to lead the Ravens to the promise land. The fourth-year quarterback was just 21 out of 38, throwing for a season low 137 yards and was intercepted on [...]

Someone thinks that Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco is elite

During the offseason, Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco was called out by Pittsburgh Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley. Woodley said that with Flacco as the quarterback, “the Ravens won’t make the Super Bowl in his lifetime”. At least someone thinks Joe Flacco is an elite quarterback, his head coach, John Harbaugh. Flacco responded to Woodley by saying, “I think I’m...

Skip Bayless on Joe Flacco: 'I think he's Joe Uncool'

The Ravens offense was historically awful in the first half of Monday night's 12-7 loss to the Jaguars, with the visitors gaining 16 yards of total offense before halftime. Quarterback Joe Flacco was 6-for-16 for eight yards in the first half, and he completed more passes to himself (one) than the team picked up first downs (zero).

Ravens: MNF guys call out Joe

Seemed like everybody on the ESPN pregame show was talking about what Joe Flacco needs to do to become a great quarterback. I'm not saying he's Aaron Rodgers, but what does the guy have to do to get some national respect. Flacco has taken the Ravens into the playoffs all three of his previous seasons. He took them to the AFC title game as a rookie. He has won four playoff...

ONLINE ONLY Which comic book superhero would Joe Flacco be?

Joe Flacco didn't come to the Ravens' rescue Monday night. As poorly as the Ravens' offense played in the 12-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Flacco still got his opportunity to step into a phone booth, wiggle into his superhero tights and carry the team on a last-minute, game-winning, mistake-cover-upping touchdown drive.

Double-Digit Spread? That's So Ravens: Week 8 Predictions

Joe Flacco stank up the scene on Monday Night and that's all anyone will remember from Week 7 besides Tim Tebow's "Miracle in Miami" and the resulting creation of Tebowing. The Ravens' dismal offense was actually not the worst offensive performance of the week. In fact, it wasn't even the worst offensive performance in the game! They scored around 16...

Could Ravens Turn to Familiar Face to Fix Offensive Woes?

In case you haven’t heard, the Baltimore Ravens had absolutely no offense and are now taking a ton of criticism. Fans on the Ravens Official Message Board are calling for Cam Cameron’s firing, some are questioning Joe Flacco‘s ability to become an elite quarterback. Some fans are even beginning to question John Harbaugh and wonder if he can be the guy and can get the job...

Steelers Lead AFC North After Ravens Loss To Jaguars

Don't look now but the Steelers are on top of the AFC North division after the Ravens lost on the road in Jacksonville tonight 12-7 to the Jaguars. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco had a horrible night as was 21 of 38 for 137 yards. His night included a late touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin and a final drive interception with 1:38 left in the game. The Ravens offense did not register...

Cameron says Flacco does have the freedom to call his own plays and make suggestions

But the Ravens offensive coordinator hints that Flacco still needs helpOn Wednesday, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco raised a few eyebrows when he admitted the team's hurry-up offense probably would go a bit faster if he were calling his own plays instead of looking to the sidelines and waiting for offensive coordinator Cam Cameron to send in the play. One of the Ravens most glaring...

Ravens' offense fails to show up in loss (AP)

For years, the Baltimore Ravens have tried -- without success -- to put together an offense that could match the play of its esteemed defense. They hoped that several offseason moves and the maturation of quarterback Joe Flacco would make a difference this season. For a few weeks, the offense was rather productive.

Baltimore Ravens Fall Short Against the Jacksonville Jaguars

Wow, I can’t say that any of us saw this coming. Jacksonville gets their second win of the year and hands Baltimore their second loss of the season with a 12-7 win. Offensively this game was far from clinical, but both defenses showed up huge tonight. Jacksonville did exactly what they needed to do to get the upset against the team that many feel is the best in the AFC. The Jacksonville...

NFL Bad Schotz Players Week 7

Phillip Rivers and the Chargers- As a Charger fan I’m using this section right here to vent a bit. The Chargers came off a bye week at 4-1 and looked to strengthen their lead in the AFC West with a win at the Jets. After a quick start and a 21-10 lead at half, Phillip Rivers and a banged up offense were unable to hold the lead. They got no help from the defense, which committed...

Who’s To Blame For The Ravens Loss To The Jags?

I shared my quick reaction following the loss on Monday and was pretty heated. I’ve followed the 24 hour rule and let it digest before I wrote anything else about it.To begin, let’s talk about who’s not to blame. The Ravens defense played lights out. Even though that’s expected when they’re facing an offense led by a rookie quarterback, it should be noted. Allowing only...
