Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard was fined $15,250 by the NFL for his hit to the head/neck area of New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, the Boston Herald reported Friday. Pollard was penalized for the hit in the third quarter of Baltimore's 28-13 win over New England in last Sunday's AFC Championship Game. However, he was not fined for his helmet-to-helmet hit that knocked Patriots running back Stevan Ridley out of the game. Pollard was not penalized on that play.

Ray preaching, but who's listening?

Never has an athlete been more ready to grab the bully pulpit provided by the excessive word orgy that is the lead-up to the Super Bowl than Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.
