Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times reports Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard was fined $10,000 for his hit on Jacksonville Jaguars running back Deji Karim, according to an NFL spokesman. "Bernard Pollard was fined $10,000 for unnecessary roughness," AFC spokesman Corry Rush wrote in an e-mail. "Specifically, on a pass play, he struck a defenseless player in the head and neck area." Pollard was penalized 15 yards for hitting Karim in what was described as a helmet-to-helmet hit by a referee. However, Pollard insisted that he used his shoulder and replays appeared to support that take.
