According to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network, the Baltimore Ravens will open up contract negotiations with quarterback Joe Flacco at the NFL scouting combine next week.  Both sides will look to get a long-term deal locked up.

Flacco will clearly not get elite quarterback money, since he’s still not at that level.  He’s a very good quarterback, but it’s obvious that he can’t carry the Ravens the way Tom Brady and Drew Brees have carried their teams respectively over the years.

There’s always the chance that Flacco ends up developing into a premiere quarterback, but right now he’s not at that level.
