Marcus Smith turned around and started trash talking. That's how confident the Baltimore special teamer was that the flag on the turf wasn't directed at him following the Ravens' would-be go-ahead, 55-yard punt return for a touchdown by Lardarius Webb that would have given them a 28-24 lead with six minutes left in Saturday's AFC divisional playoff game against the Steelers. Smith was called for holding Will Allen on the Steelers' 19-yard line, eventually costing the Ravens four points. "I thought no way that it is on me," said Smith. "In that situation in the game, you never want to be that guy for any reason." Smith said he didn't see a replay of the call, but he was sure that he used proper technique to block Allen. "I thought it was clean," Smith said. "I lock up and try to drive my feet and try to keep my hands inside and try to work the technique we work on in practice. After the play, I was disgusted in myself and with the play in general. You just can't have that. Everything was on the line."
