According to the Baltimore Sun, there’s a chance Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis will play this coming Sunday against the Giants. The Ravens will again wait until Saturday afternoon to make a decision on Ray Lewis, but early indications are that the inside linebacker will attempt to play Sunday against the New York Giants. Lewis, who is trying to come back from a torn triceps that he sustained in the Ravens’ Week 6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, practiced for the third straight week and he wants to return. The Ravens also possess the roster flexibility to accommodate him on the 53-man roster with Jameel McClain (neck) expected to be moved to injured reserve. The Ravens have declared McClain out for the season. The Ravens will have to make a final decision on whether to activate Lewis from injured reserve with a designation to return by 4 p.m. Saturday. Team sources said they expect Lewis to try to play; however, they cautioned the decision will ultimately be up to Lewis and the team’s medical and coaching staff. Ravens coach John Harbaugh didn’t tip his hand, saying only that Lewis is “coming along.” Even if Lewis is activated for Sunday’s game, he’ll have plenty of rust to shake and won’t make a big difference on one of the worst defenses in the NFL.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Bernard Pollard on the Ravens freefall: “We are the problem”

At the start of the season, the Baltimore Ravens were one of the favorites to go to the Super Bowl. They were within one dropped pass in the 2011 AFC Championship game of reaching that goal, however, after a hot start that had the Ravens firmly in command of the 2nd seed, they have tailed off badly. Cam Cameron wanted to install an offense similar to the New England Patriots...

Ray Lewis Out For The Rest Of The Regular Season

Franchise Tag Coming For Joe Flacco?

Albert Breer of the NFL Network tweets that the Ravens are prepared to franchise QB Joe Flacco at the end of the season if they’re unable to reach an agreement on a long-term contract. The two sides have been discussing a deal for months now, but Flacco’s performance this season doesn’t lineup with his overall asking price, which makes it seem as though the franchise tag...

Despite recent struggles and public opinion the Baltimore Ravens are primed to end the Giants season at home

Public opinion backs the Giants on the road this week but the selection is misguided. After losing to the Broncos last week Baltimore has now lost consecutive home contests after winning 16 in a row on their home turf; but have traditionally played their best ball at home and appear ready to bounce back after a beating at the hands of the Broncos for their 9th straight victory. Jim...

Ravens stumble toward postseason

Unlike for the New York Giants, the FOX America's Game of the Week is not a must-win affair for the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are in the playoffs already. They could even fall Sunday to the Giants (4:25 p.m. ET kickoff) and still capture the AFC North title with a Week 17 victory in Cincinnati. However, such a scenario doesn't make the possibility of a fourth consecutive...
