The Dolphins aren’t expected to re-sign soon to be unrestricted free agent tight end Anthony Fasano this offseason. “On the Dolphins’ long list of key free agents, TE Anthony Fasano is not expected to be a priority to re-sign. Though he’s a good blocker and effective in the red zone, leading the team with five TD catches, he is not a seam threat,” via ProFootballWeekly.com. It looks as though the Dolphins will look in-house to replace Fasano. The likely option appears to be 2012 third-round pick Michael Egnew is expected to replace Fasano at tight end. While Egnew only appeared in two games this past season and didn’t record a catch, the hope is for him to make the leap in his second season and become the Dolphins starting tight end. His rookie season started off as bad as any and there was even a chance that he could be cut during training camp. The Dolphins would be wise to find another option if they do in fact pass on bringing Fasano back.
