Well that didn’t go so hot. Faced with the specter of viable playoff caliber competition, Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers got absolutely pummeled, 27-3.
Some were optimistic about San Diego’s chances, given that the game was at home, the Atlanta Falcons traveled cross-country and were playing on a short week. Both teams were 2-0 going into the game, and viewed as pretty evenly matched. A close game was anticipated.
The Chargers, having shown poise and dominance in their first two outings, melted in the 100 degree heat. They reverted back to most of the bad habits that have kept them out of the postseason the last two years.
