INJURY UPDATE: After their week off, most Bucs are back at practice today. Gerald McCoy, Sammie Stroughter, Jeff Faine, Tanard Jackson and LeGarrette Blount are all practicing. The only one not practicing is Jeremy Zuttah, which is more of a loss these days than it used to be for some reason. Speaking of Blount, the Times confirms that he will be back into his starting position for the Saints game this Sunday. And not just that, he’s going to be on the field a lot more on third down, mostly because he’s the only running back they have.
“Oh yeah, I know I’m going to play third downs in this game,” Blount said. “I’m probably not going to play all of them, but I know I’m going to play quite a few of them. I’ve shown that I know the protections and I know the routes and everything and I can catch the ball, so that’s going to help us out tremendously. It’s going to let me stay in the game a little bit longer and play a lot more snaps, so I’m excited.”
