Looking ahead to Sunday’s game, I think it’s pretty clear that the Seahawks are going to be favored, and most pundits should pick them to beat the Rams. And why not, since the Seahawks just dismantled the Rams a month ago.  Let’s face it, The Seahawks are, and should be favored to win this game. But before everyone looks past this game and begins thinking about next week, I think it’s important to note that this game might not be the easy win that everyone thinks it will be. There are a number of reasons why Monday’s game may not end up looking similar to the game 3 weeks ago. Here are my top 5 reasons for concern heading into Monday’s game: 1)   Steven Jackson. He rushed for just 44 yards on 14 carriers in the first game, but the Rams never really committed to getting him going. Jackson is one of the league’s top backs, and if St. Louis really commits to the running game it could really create problems for the Seahawks. 2)   Complacency. The Seahawks dominated the previous meeting ...

Morning links: Unger Seattle’s glue-guy

Dave Boling of The News Tribune writes about Seattle Seahawks center Max Unger, the only starting offensive linemen to avoid a season-ending injury or surgery. Although Unger missed 15 games last year with a serious toe surgery, and missed a game against Cleveland with a minor foot issue, he’s been the glue guy holding things down in the middle of Seattle’s offensive line. ...

Carroll talked to league about Trent Cole's flip

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he talked to the league about the play that caused a season-ending injury for left tackle Russell Okung.

NFC Wild Card Hunt

The Seahawks don't play until tomorrow night, but there's still plenty going on today that concerns them.  Even at 5-7, Seattle still has a chance to making the playoffs as a wild card team.  Granted, it's not a great chance, and it requires several other teams to finish out the year on a losing streak, but after the way this season began it's amazing the possibility...

Doors Unlocked and Open

Playoff talk around the Seahawks has started up again, but almost everyone is very careful to declare upfront that there is almost no chance of Seattle actually reaching the postseason. In fact, it seems like it's almost a badge of "seriousness" to dismiss the Seahawks' playoff chances with an eye roll and a wanking motion. But I'm not serious. I'm not realistic...

Fantasy Football Preview Week 14: Rams vs. Seahawks

St. Louis @ Seattle   After predictably getting blanked by the 49ers on the road, the Rams get another stiff challenge by going up to Seattle on Monday Night Football to hopefully avoid getting embarrassed for a second week in a row.  Ok, let’s face it… the Rams have been embarrassed for just about 14 weeks in a row, with their high point being an inexplicable win over the...

Beware thy neighbor! Week 14 NFC West Matchups + Previews

The Seattle Seahawks are still mathematically alive in the NFC wildcard race, but realistically only one team in the NFC west has a shot at the playoffs, the San Francisco 49ers face the Arizona Cardinals this week, and the St. Louis Rams fly to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Marshawn Lynch vs. Steven Jackson, and Alex Smith vs. Kevin Kolb. Here’s our Week...

Rams' Bradford still questionable

The Seahawks are as healthy as could be expected for a team that has 13 players on injured reserve.
