He’s Back! A short while ago word came across the NFL news wire that all of us  Seattle Seahawks fans wanted to hear.
Red Bryant has re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks for 5 years, $35 million, including $14.5 million guaranteed.
In 2011 Red played in 16 games, had 2 interceptions, 20 tackles, 1 TD, 1 sack, and a handful of blocked kicks becoming one of the Seahawks best players on defense. He was a must sign. This is a huge signing for Pete Carroll and John Schneider. Its always important to keep your own guys when building a team in the mold you want. Big Red Bryant Signs with Seattle. He's Back! Carroll altered the career path of Big Red Bryant by moving him from defensive tackle to defensive end in his 4-3 schem and made him a run blocker. Red is a guy coveted around the league by a lot of teams. New England and New Orleans were rumored to want him. This deal will average over 7 million dollars per year over 5 seasons. He’s a great strong side end, he can handle the run, and he’s all ours Seahawks fans. Position Defensive End
Height 6’4″
Weight 323 lbs
Birthdate April 18, 1984
Birthplace Gavelston Co, Texas
College Texas A&M Earlier today we posted an article talking about the Seahawks D-line. We noted Red Bryant is a guy with 4 years experience who loves the team, the city and the fans but has an agent and possibly an ego telling him that he can get a lot more money than the Seahawks have offered. After testing the market I think he found out that he is more valuable in Seattle than he is anywhere else. We thought he’d re-sign, and he did. Red has averaged 2 tackles per game during his career. He’ll now have the chance to improve those numbers and get himself to a pro bowl. Congrats Big Red. Look for the Seahawks to still possibly look to get Jason Jones on board from the Titans later today. Never anything wrong with a more improved interior pass rush. NFL Free Agency: Possible Seahawks linebackers love ‘em & hate ‘em

A look into the linebackers free agency market Last season the Seahawks drafted KJ Wright which allowed them to cut ties with the grossly underperforming Aaron Curry. Seattle also drafted Malcolm Smith last year and the 7th round draft choice is currently the other starting OLB. One would think the Seattle Seahawks have to be active March 13th. Here’s how I see Seahawks...

Seahawks to host tight end Visanthe Shiancoe

Playing catchup on Seattle Seahawks news here as I was out to dinner with family, who I must say I love for putting up with my "blogging fever" during NFL Free Agency. I had to introduce myself to my kids again tonight. Ok onto the news... A short while ago the NFL Network reporter Steve Wyche broke the news that the Seahawks will host tight end Visanthe Shiancoe...

Free Agents That Could Help Packers

Seattle's Bryant is a very underrated defensive lineman The start of free agency on Tuesday is like an unofficial holiday for many NFL fans, but for Cheeseheads, Tuesday is just the second day of another work week. That’s because the Packers haven’t signed a meaningful free agent in the past three years. General manager Ted Thompson doesn’t figure to change his ways this...

NFL Free Agency: Possible Seahawks wide receivers love ‘em & hate ‘em

A look into the wide receiver free agency market Last year Seattle made a big splash when they signed Sidney Rice to a 5 year $41 million dollar contract. They were also able to add Doug Baldwin as an un-drafted free agent and we all know how great that has turned out. Because of these two moves last off season I would not expect Seattle to make any big moves at this position. One...

Vikings sign TE John Carlson to 5-year deal

The Minnesota Vikings have signed John Carlson to a five-year deal, bringing the tight end back to his home state. The 27-year-old Carlson spent his first four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. But he missed all of last season after needing shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum that occurred in training camp. ESPN first reported the agreement, which includes $11 million in guaranteed...

NFL Free Agency: Possible Seahawks offensive line love ‘em & hate ‘em

A look into the offensive line free agency market Last year Seattle put a lot of effort into improving this group. No move was bigger than the addition of Offensive Line/Assistant Head Coach Tom Cable. His value was evident before the team ever took the field playing a key role in the Seahawks aquisition of TE Zach Miller and LG Robert Gallery. One would think the Seattle Seahawks have...

Steve Hutchinson visiting Seattle

So how does a one day Hall of Fame Left Guard who you'll probably remember being in town sound? Steve Hutchinson... "HUTCH" is here for a visit reports Danny O from the Seattle Times blog. Seahawks Offensive Co-ordinator Darrell Bevell was with Hutchinson in Minnesota. And I'm pretty sure Hutch loved the fishing in the northwest, and knows Tobeck and Walter Jones...
