Bay Sports Report:
Last week’s pathetic performance against the Steelers was the lowest point of Jacoby Ford’s young career. Seemingly overnight Ford went from a beloved star to someone everyone wanted off of the team. When Ford first came into the league it looked like he would be a future star for the Oakland Raiders but injuries and a few bad performances have put his career in doubt.
It looks like Ford will get one last chance on Sunday to save his downtrodden career. Obviously, if Ford just holds onto the ball it would be a better performance than last weeks because Ford almost single handedly lost the game for the Raiders. However, the Raiders are expecting Ford to show that he hasn’t lost his explosiveness. Ford must create a play or two in the return game by making defenders miss and putting the Raiders offense in good field position.
I’m not sure how much the Raiders will use Ford in the offense on Sunday because he has been severely ineffective. If Ford does get his number called as a wide receiver he must show that he is more than an undersized wide receiver. Ford shocked many earlier on in his career when he made huge plays in the passing game. We haven’t seen much from Ford since his rookie year so he must prove that he is not a one hit wonder.
Expect the Eagles game to be Ford’s last chance to save his career. With a few key players coming back from injury there will be some players that need to get cut. Jacoby Ford is a prime candidate to see the unemployment line if he doesn’t prove his worth against the Eagles.

Raiders fans got a bit of a heart attack out of last week’s win over the Steelers, but a win is a win. The team pushed its way to 3-4 and is squarely in the mix for the sixth AFC wildcard spot. To get to .500 and continue this push, the team must first put up a solid effort against a banged-up Philadelphia Eagles team (3-5). It is surprising that the Eagles are favored by the Vegas...
The Oakland Raiders run defense will get a stiff test against the NFL's leading rusher in Philadelphia's LeSean McCoy and they know it's going to be a battle. McCoy recognized the improved Raiders defense saying it's going to be a test, but for the Black and Silver it will be a measuring stick on how far they have come.
Even though Terrelle Pyor led the Oakland Raiders to a big win against the hated Pittsburgh Steelers, Pryor did not look comfortable after the first play of the game. Pryor admitted after the game that he still didn’t fully trust the Raiders offensive line. It looked like Pryor got antsy in the pocket after he couldn’t get the ball to his first option. You can’t really blame...
Out of the 11 players on the Raiders defense, the only player that was tgeir last year is Lamar Houston. Defensive Coordinator has stuck with this defense through thick and thin. Shoot he even gave the ref something to look at after he flipped off the ref for a bad call. We Jason believes in […]
Through eight full weeks of the 2013 NFL season, football fans have already seen more than their fair share of surprises.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are (gasp!) 0-8. The Cleveland Browns have already started three different quarterbacks – making that 20 different starting signal-callers for the franchise since its 1999 reincarnation. And Peyton Manning has had no trouble molding...
According to Adam Kaplan of ESPN’s NFL Insiders, the jury is still very much out on Terrelle Pryor.
In an interview on 95.7 FM The Game, Kaplan expressed serious doubts about the viability of Pryor as the future quarterback of the Oakland Raiders:
.@caplannfl had some real talk about Pryor saying “he has regressed” but believes Denarius Moore can be a number 1 http://t.co/V7cVyAI2tr...
This year in fantasy football many people were hoping on guys like Ray Rice Chris Johnson, CJ Spiller, Darren McFadden and even Trent Richardson to pick up slack. Out of all these players though only one man really stands out as being the bust in the fantasy draft. That’s Ray Rice the running back of […]
While there are some critics of the Regional Combine, I have to admit this helps small schoolers out quite a bit. The cost is 275 dollars but it is worth it if you cannot get ibto a bigger pro day or you want in front of more NFL scouts. There will be 10 locations this […]
Last week: 30 (+1)
Aside from his NFL record 93-yard quarterback run, Terrelle Pryor struggled against the Steelers, who are one of the best defenses he’s faced this season, completing 10 of 19 for 92 yards and 2 interceptions. We know he can run, but his struggles in his last two games against the Chiefs’ and the Steelers’ defenses have to be concerning for the...
Some fans and critics thought Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson was too conservative in the second half of Sunday's 21-18 win over the Steelers. Well, Olson said Wednesday he wished he'd run the ball even more.
"We really wanted to gut them rushing the football," said Olson, who called runs on 15 of 23 plays in the second half - for 15 yards. Oakland (3...

The Eagles head to Oakland on Sunday to face the Raiders in the “Black Hole.”
It is always tough for a team to fly across the country, for the Eagles, they find themselves reeling from two straight NFC East losses, and are now starring down the barrel of facing Oakland and Green Bay. The Birds need to be careful, as the Raiders sit at 3-5, but are very strong at home.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-5) at Oakland Raiders (3-4)
The Raiders won a close home game against the Steelers as underdogs last week, winning 21-18, but they didn’t play that well last week. If it wasn’t for a breakdown on a fluke touchdown run by Terrelle Pryor (the longest in NFL history by a quarterback) and two missed field goals by the Steelers that easily could have been made...

Something about the Oakland Raiders seems to bring out the worst in the Eagles.
I snuck behind enemy lines to gather some intelligence about the Raiders. Who exactly are these Raiders guys in 2013 and should we be prepared as Iggles Phans to expect something out of the ordinary?

Last week, for some reason, I felt that Kelvin Beachum was starting to settle in at left tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it turns out that probably had a lot to do with the soft Baltimore Ravens defense. He struggled a fair bit last week going up against the Oakland Raiders, particularly when facing defensive end Lamarr Houston, who was excellent against...
