The Washington Redskins promoted offensive tackle Tom Compton from the practice squad to take the active roster spot of cornerback Cedric Griffin. Griffin was suspended for the rest of the regular season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. Compton was a sixth-round draft pick by the Redskins this year out of South Dakota. He has yet to appear in an NFL game. The Redskins also added two players to their practice squad, linebacker Kourtnei Brown and defensive back Korey Lindsey. Brown was an undrafted rookie out of Clemson this year. He was with the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason. Lindsey was a seventh-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2011, but he failed to make the team. He has spent time on the practice squads of the Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars.

This fan fight has all the ingredients of a beauty — East Coasters, liquid...

WHAT A POTTY MOUTH
Following Washington's win over the New York Monday night, Redskins owner Dan Snyder reportedly was overheard colorfully expressing his feelings about his team's rivals.
The great game that is fantasy football is rarely dull. By that I mean, it’s hard as snit to predict what you’re gonna get from week to week, even when you have the studliest of studs in your lineup. Just ask any person who drafted Aaron Rodgers how the first few weeks of the season felt or a Drew Brees owner if they missed the playoffs when he dropped a 5 INT, 0 TD pass...
The NFC East is a jumbled scrum after the Redskins out-punched the Giants 17-16 at FedEx Field. The defending champs, with a one-game lead, are no longer guaranteed a wildcard spot, let alone a division title.
If the battle between the stumbling G-Men and the plucky Redskins wasn’t entertaining enough after Robert Griffin III led Washington over New York on Monday night, 17-16, this should do it.
Redskins owner Dan Snyder reportedly made his rounds in the locker room afterward and expressed just how nice it was to beat the Giants.
