First Quarter The Redskins opened the game with perhaps their best drive of the season. Donovan McNabb connected on all eight of his passes for 84 yards, five different receivers caught passes, the Redskins converted all four of their third down attempts and the offense even showed a new wrinkle: Brandon Banks carrying out of the Wildcat formation. The Redskins had big plays on a couple third downs - a diving 14-yard catch by Chris Cooley on third and 2 and Roydell Williams breaking a tackle for a 19-yard gain on third and 12 - to keep the drive alive. McNabb then capped the eight-play, 83-yard drive with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Fred Davis in the corner of the end zone. Minnesota answered with an equally impressive drive, led mostly by powerful running back Adrian Peterson. Redskins defenders struggled to bring Peterson down. He had one catch for 34
