Found October 03, 2013 on Redskins Hog Heaven:
You probably heard: the Washington Redskins did not get off to the kind of start they had planned. Washington had not begun any season 0-3 in more than a decade, and any start that has anyone making sunny day comparisions to the 2001 Redskins is not an ideal situation. With the start out of the way, the Redskins were able to get into the win column on the road, which should not be taken for granted.  The Redskins have played well enough to win both of the last two weeks.  This is a very aggressive turnaround from the quality of the team's performance in the first two weeks. And while you can't just pretend like Weeks 1 & 2 never occured, they are far enough in the past to maintain proper perspective on the rest of the season.  The Redskins are playing right around the level established by last season. Here are some of my major observations through the first four weeks, with an emphasis on Weeks 3 & 4: Robert Griffin III has improved his play from ...

Washington Redskins in decent shape heading into their bye week

It has been one rocky road, but Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins are all smiles to be still in contention after 4 weeks (Photo: Getty Images) Well, as good of a position as a 1-3 team can be in, probably. Yes, that’s right, as poorly as the first quarter of the 2013 season went for the Washington Redskins (and, if you haven’t been paying attention, it went brutally...

Redskins Film Review: What Happened on the Blocked Punt?

Redskins Film Review This will be the first in a series of post’s using the “All-22″ Coaches Film from NFL.com to help visualize certain plays and formations and analyze the situation. Last Sunday when the Washington Redskins traveled to Oakland to take on the Raiders they had the worst thing that can possibly happen to [...]

Redskins GM Bruce Allen: I want a “Burgundy Hole”

Former Redskins tight end Chris Cooley explained in a radio appearance that he’s been going on the road with his former team since he’s working with ESPN 980 and  doing some pre game radio work and been doing pep rallies with owner Dan Snyder and general manager Bruce Allen. Cooley went on and explained that Allen wants to have a “Burgundy Hole” which would be like Oakland’s...

Does the Redskin’s win over the Raiders prove anything

Week 4 of the NFL season has come to a conclusion and Washington Redskins have firmly established themselves as one the NFL’s cellar dwellers.  This past week they faced the winless Oakland Raiders on the road.  Fortunately for fans, the Redskins they were able to eke out a win against Matt Flynn and company.   After this win the question looms:  Does the Redskin’s victory over...

Redskins fan gets likeness of RG3 shaved onto head (PHOTO)

A Redskins fan is so enamored of Robert Griffin III he had a likeness of the quarterback shaved into the back of his head. Last year's NFL darling has led the 'Skins to a disappointing 1-3 start in 2013, so I guess you could call the RG3 haircut this year's version of a "Fade." Too soon? Anyway, if you're stoked about getting this RG3 hairstyle you...

NY tribe targeting Redskins name plans DC meeting

An Indian tribe from upstate New York that's campaigning against the Washington Redskins' nickname says it will hold a public meeting about the issue on the football team's home turf - at the same Washington hotel where the NFL is holding its fall meeting. The Oneida Indian Nation's symposium is scheduled for Monday, the day NFL owners start arriving for Tuesday...

An Indian tribe from upstate New York that's campaigning against the Washington Redskins' nickname said Thursday it will hold a symposium about the issue at the same Washington hotel where the NFL is holding its fall meeting. The Oneida Indian Nation's symposium is scheduled for Monday, the day NFL owners start arriving for Tuesday's meeting. Tribal leader Ray Halbritter...

Schefter: Dr. Andrews kept RG3 from playing in the preseason, won’t do well as a pocket passer

ESPN’s Adam Schefter made an appearance on ESPN 980 in Washington D.C. and reported that Dr. James Andrews kept Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III from playing during the preseason. Schefter also doesn’t believe Griffin will be successful as a pocket passer. @AdamSchefter on ESPN980 "That was a Dr. Andrews decision" on not playing in preseason. Adam stressing that...

Photo: Redskins fan gets Robert Griffin's face buzzed into hair

This is a haircut you don't see everyday. Seen here is the finished product produced by Jesus Cruz of Cruz Cutz Barbershop in Moline, Ill. after getting an unusual request from a customer. As you can see, the likeness of Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is so apparent, it's freaky. It will be interesting to see how RGIII's face changes as the...

Dale Jr. concerned about his Redskins start

ROANOKE, Texas -- About the same time Sunday that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was vying for his first Sprint Cup win of the season, his favorite NFL team was winning its first game of the season. Unfortunately for Earnhardt, he finished second to teammate Jimmie Johnson at Dover. The good news for Earnhardt was that his Redskins rallied for a 24-14 victory win over Oakland. Earnhardt isn...

Washington Redskins: 2013 Week 5 NFL Power Rankings (#22)

Last week: 24 (+2) Record: 1-3 The Redskins won their first game of the season in Oakland, but honestly I wasn’t that impressed with them. They should have blown out the Matt Flynn led Raiders, but they didn’t, as their offense mustered just 24 points (7 off of a return) against a replacement level Raiders defense. Fortunately for them, they have a bye week to get things sorted...

Obama open to name change for Washington Redskins

President Barack Obama says that if he owned the Washington Redskins, he would ''think about changing'' the team name, wading into the controversy over a football nickname that many people deem offensive to Native Americans. Obama, in an interview with The Associated Press, said team names like the Redskins offend ''a sizable group of people.'' He...

A Change Will Do You Good

Perhaps inspired by last week’s “Gay Dad” episode of The League, DeAngelo Hall decided to leave Washington’s victory in the same Lacoste (presumably polo, because that’s the only shirt Lacoste makes, right?) shirt he showed up in. He didn’t expect to come up against the NFL uniform inspector who squashed the polo party with what might have been a little too much enjoyment...

Inspired by Raiders’ ‘Black Hole’, Redskins GM wants ‘Burgandy Hole’ at FedEx Field

So, the Washington Redskins traveled to the West Coast last weekend for a tilt against the Oakland Raiders. Not only did the team come back with its first win of the season, one member of the team’s brain trust may have come back with a hilarious humdinger of an idea on how to improve FedEx […]The post Inspired by Raiders’ ‘Black Hole’, Redskins GM wants ‘Burgandy Hole’...
