Anytime the New York Giants get together with an NFC East division rival, things have a tendency to get chippy. We saw that at various points throughout the night during New York’s loss to the Washington Redskins on Monday night, but for the most part it seemed like the officials did a good job of keeping things under control. However, Redskins cornerback Josh Wilson said there was plenty of post-whistle activity. When Alfred Morris fumbled in the third quarter, a pile-up for the ball led to some pushing, shoving and even a little kicking. As you can see from this video, Giants defensive tackle Linval Joseph swung his leg at Washington center Will Montgomery. It was hardly a brutal kick, but Wilson said someone was “stomping heads” on the field. “I don’t know how this one got away, but they had a Albert Haynesworth head stomper out there that kinda got away with it,” Morgan told Holden and Danny on 106.7 The Fan, via D.C. Sports Bog. “I’m sure the league is gonna review that for the Giants. But I haven’t seen somebody, well, besides Suh, that had some head-stomping going on that hasn’t been up in Detroit.” Unless Morgan is talking about an incident other than the one that involved Joseph and Montgomery, it sounds like he’s exaggerating a bit. In fact, he’s exaggerating even more if he’s referring to the Ndamukong Suh stomping incident from last Thanksgiving as a head stomp. Am I saying any type of kick toward a player who is laying on the ground is right? Not at all, but there’s no need to lie like kindergarteners in an attempt to get your opponent into trouble.
