Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis had a pretty good season in 2012 before tearing his Achilles tendon.
One league insider told The Washington Post that the Redskins or another team could end up offering Davis a multi-year contract despite his injury.
One league insider said that the Redskins, or some other team with interest in Davis, could offer him a multi-year deal despite his injury-shortened 2012 campaign. But they said to protect themselves, teams could structure the deals they offer Davis in a way that would lessen the payout in the event of an unsuccessful return from injury.
The Redskins could also end up placing the franchise tag on Davis, which would pay him $6.5 million for next season.
At the end of the day, the Redskins really need to figure out what Davis is worth to them and that will decide his future.
