Washington Redskins defensive end Jason Taylor, who has been sidelined with a sprained right knee, is expected to play in Thursday night's season opener against the New York Giants. Taylor sprained his knee in the second quarter against the Carolina Panthers on August 23. The Redskins said that the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year would be sidelined 10 to 14 days.
