Redskins Post:
So much for the trio backfield which was combined approaching 100 years of age, the Washington Redskins have jettisoned Willie Parker. Willie Parker, signed as a veteran free agent this past offseason failed to show that he has anything left in the tank. He was competing with Clinton Portis and Larry Johnson for a roster spot and simply could not beat anyone else out for a roster position. Surprisingly, Larry Johnson has showed some burst this preseason and was head and shoulders above Parker on the field this preseason.
We still have a few more hours to go until teams need to meet the 53 man roster deadline, and the million dollar question is going to be, will DT Albert Haynesworth stick with the Washington Redskins or has head coach Mike Shanahan had enough and the team dumps him. Stay tuned, I’ll be watching closely. Happy Labor Day weekend to all!
