The Redskins pulled off a surprise victory over the New York Giants Sunday, winning 23-10 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score or statistics indicated. The Redskins improved to 5-9 on the year as they dropped the Giants to 7-7 and muddled New York’s playoff chances. It was one of the most convincing wins the Redskins have recorded since Mike Shanahan took over last year, and gave Washington its first sweep of the Giants since the 1999 season. 2012 NFL draft watch: Redskins now in eighth spot

The Washington Redskins improved their record to 5-9 Sunday while dropping the New York Giants to 7-7 and hurting New York’s playoff chances. Nicks’ Missed Opportunities Prove Costly to Giants

Giants’ wideout Hakeem Nicks is usually a reliable receiver. Today, he wasn’t his reliable self, dropping passes letting some others get away from him. He still made some plays (five catches for 73 yards) but it’s the ones he didn’t make that has people thinking ‘what if’ today. The Giants’ passing attack was marginalized by wind, sun and aggressive Washington defense...

Kyle Shanahan Has Redskins Offense on Rebound

Since his arrival in Washington, Kyle Shanahan has been a primary target of derision amongst Redskins fans. Given the failed quarterback experiments and inconsistent offensive output, it’s no surprise Shanahan is about as popular in these parts as Troy Aikman. He’s has had a rough go of it since leaving the high-powered Texans to join his father here, but this latest stretch...

Third Quarter Thoughts

AP Image Halftime is the enemy of any team with momentum, because they risk cooling off in the locker room. This is only the second...

Redskins at Giants: Quarter-by-quarter breakdown, game's key play

First quarter Well, that didn't take long. The Redskins extended two dubious streaks on the game's first play, when Rex Grossman was intercepted on a flea-flicker. That made it 28 straight games with a turnover for the Skins and 10 straight with an interception for Grossman. But overall, the quarter ...
