With the Rams threatening to take the lead early in the fourth quarter -- they had a first down on the Redskins' 15 -- Washington came up with the biggest defensive play of the game. On third and four from the Washington 9, Marc Bulger found receiver Donnie Avery on the right side. Avery made a move at the 5 in an attempt to get more yardage, but Redskins safety Chris Horton jarred the ball loose. Cornerback Carlos Rogers recovered, and the Redskins were spared. Washington, however, punted three plays later -- Jason Campbell was fortunate he wasn't sacked for a safety on the second-down play. The Rams, provided another chance, couldn't manage a first down, and the Redskins' chance to run out the clock came from their own 20 with 9:15 remaining. Washington, using a 25-yard screen play to Ladell Betts and a 16-yard hook-up between Campbell and Malcolm
