Washington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher is heading to his third consecutive Pro Bowl, replacing an injured Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears. Fletcher led the NFL in tackles, forced three fumbles, and had two interceptions and 1 1/2 sacks. Fletcher once referred to himself as ''the Susan Lucci of the NFL'' because he had yet to be rewarded with a trip to the Pro Bowl. In 2010, Fletcher made it for the first time when Jonathan Vilma of the New Orleans Saints couldn't play because the game was being held before the Super Bowl. Last season, Fletcher got in again at the last minute - after Urlacher withdrew because of an injury. This season, Urlacher hurt his left knee in Chicago's last game.

How the Redskins can get Robert Griffin III

Griffin could provide for this offense what no QB has been able to in recent Redskins history Luckily for Redskins fans the playoffs can’t affect the teams draft status come April. As many of you know, right now the Redskins sit at pick number six. Usually the sixth pick is regarded as a very nice position to be in, but not when your top prospects at quarterback are likely...

Rob Myers Hits The Slopes, Twitterverse

Up until Week 16, tight end Rob Myers didn’t exist on the Redskins roster.  Up until this weekend, he didn’t exist on Twitter. Now both have come true. Myers is the latest of the Redskins players to join Twitter (@RobMyersTE), a list that includes Graham Gano, Jabar Gaffney and Willie Smith.  Notable players missing on the trendy social network includes Sav Rocca, Roy...

Paul Sees Family, Revisits Super Heroes

AP Image Nebraska’s native son Niles Paul has returned home to spend time catching up with his family.  A native of Omaha, Neb., he spent his college days only an hour away in Lincoln. Going into the NFL, he knew that he would have to leave the land of Johnny Carson (and the band 311), and he ended up 20 hours away in Washington, D.C. The NFL season is a grind for anyone,...

extreme makeover: redskins edition

(photo by Brian Murphy) Once again, the NFL playoffs are in full effect while the Washington Redskins are left on the outside looking in. Because the franchise has just one playoff victory over the last decade, you’d think this would get easier to swallow, but that’s never the case. With losses far outnumbering the wins in Washington, it’s [...]

Ruskell: Man of the house

As Bears president Ted Phillips consults trusted advisers throughout the league, player personnel director Tim Ruskell quietly serves as the interim general manager. He’d like to remove the interim tag and replace Jerry Angelo on a permanent basis. The thought might not sit well with some in the Bears’ fan base given Ruskell’s friendship and history with Angelo, who hired him...

Two Plays That Changed the Bears' Season

Watching the playoffs this past weekend was not easy for Bears fans. Earlier in the season, we assumed we would be watching our team play. It would be Jay Cutler and Matt Forte and Julius Peppers on the field. It wouldn't be the Lions and Falcons, both teams that the Bears had beat during the regular season. The worst part is that it was so close to being different. How...
