What to Watch For in the Redskins Third Preseason Game

In the NFL, the third game of the preseason is typically the dress rehearsal for the regular season. For the Redskins it will be a little different. Today against Buffalo Rex Grossman will lead the first team offense for likely a half and former West Virginia stand out Pat White will take over when Grossman exits. Grossman came into training camp as the number three quarterback,...

Redskins' Richard Crawford out for season with knee injury

The Washington Redskins have announced that punt returner Richard Crawford is done for the season after suffering a significant left knee injury, according to NFL.com. Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told reporters that Crawford injured at least one, and potentially two, ligaments in his knee while returning a punt in the first quarter of last night’s win over the Buffalo...

Fred Smoot still likes to party

It must be really, really tough to be a retired athlete. I mean, one day you’re on top of the world, making millions of dollars, with tens of thousands of fans cheering for you. Your off days are spent watching tape of sports; your nights are spent partying around town and living the life.  And on weekends, or in the offseason? Party boat time.  But once those days are over,...

Photo: Redskins Kirk Cousins points out awesome t-shirt

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins was roaming the sidelines all day in the Redskins preseason game versus Buffalo Saturday afternoon. Before the game he had his picture taken with possibly an unknowing fan during pregame.   Seeing this shirt yesterday made me laugh! ‘Skins fans have been great to me from the day I was picked, thank you! pic.twitter.com/WXJIsJED3u ...

Best Washington Redskins (Cheerleader) GIF Ever

When I saw this I knew I needed to use it in a post, but than I couldn't really come up with anything of substance to post it with (that would make sense at least). So rather than not share it with the world (which would be a travesty) I decided to come up with a couple doofy sentences and just do it. Anyway...enjoy! @cjzero/Twitter

Washington Redskins: Projected 53 man roster Part III

photo credit: washingtonpost.com Game 3 has come and gone. There were some players who gained ground and those that lost it due to performance and/or injuries. With some key starters not playing due to minor injuries, the back ups got their best chances to shine in the so called dress rehearsal for the regular season. Here is my updated 53 man roster. OFFENSE: QB: Robert Griffin...

No sign of RG3's rogue shirt before Redskins game

Robert Griffin III dressed to impress the NFL, with no sign of the T-shirt that got him fined earlier in the week. The Washington Redskins' quarterback came out in full uniform for warm-ups some 2 1/2 hours before Saturday's preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. Griffin wore a T-shirt with the words ''Operation Patience'' before the Redskins' game...

Robert Griffin III fined $10,000 by NFL for apparel violation

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has been fined $10000 by the NFL for an apparel violation a person familiar with the league’s action said. Five things to know from Bills-Redskins

All the Washington Redskins' angst over Robert Griffin III's knee suddenly seems like a mere trifle, at least when compared the quarterback problems faced by rookie head coach Doug Marrone and his Buffalo Bills. Griffin again moved well on his surgically repaired right knee in the warmups before Saturday's 30-7 win over the Buffalo Bills. And in case Griffin doesn'...

Redskins GM Bruce Allen calls the NFC East the 'SEC of the NFL'

The NFC East has probably been the most competitive division in the NFL since the mid 1980's. There might have been a few to come close but none that come to mind immediately. Bill Parcells, Joe Gibbs, Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson, Andy Reid and Buddy Ryan had a lot to do with that run of excellence.   Maybe that's why Washington Redskins general manager Bruce Allen  called...

Mike Shanahan: ‘Anything short of a Super Bowl is failure’

During a recent press conference, Shanahan told reporters that Redskins’ players have “set the expectations: anything short of a Super Bowl is failure.” Shanahan on #Redskins players: "They have set the expectations: anything short of a Super Bowl is a failure."...

Redskins-Bills Winners & Losers

Handing out labels after Skins games. This time a 30-7 win over Buffalo. Winners Rex Grossman — Pretty average game. Lucked out when a DB dropped an easy pick. Didn’t get hurt. Is more established than ever as the backup to the backup QB. Roy Helu Jr. – Totaled 91 yards and is similarly established as the RB2. That downfield fumble was bad, though. Keiland Williams – Of...
