Just last week we said that the New York Giants will likely lose wide receiver Mario Manningham during the offseason via free agency.

Now that Manningham hauled in the most impressive catch of Super Bowl XLVII, that ultimately put the Giants in position to win, there’s at least one team out there that will offer him big money on the open market.

Mike Florio and Peter King of NBC Sports Talk believe the team that would have no problem opening their wallet for Manningham, is the Washington Redskins.  They clearly need a dynamic receiver that can stretch the field with Santana Moss’ career slowly winding down as they continue to re-build.

The problems I see with Manningham,  is that he’s very inconsistent with his route running and I’ve noticed that he sometimes makes routine catches look more difficult then they need to be.  He also has the ability to make some phenomenal catches in clutch situations.

Super Bowl XLVI: Unsung Hero of The Game

For much of the year, Mario Manningham flew under the radar for the New York Giants.   In the past, Manningham had been a solid receiver who hauled in over 50 catches for more than 800 yards in the past two seasons for the Giants. During this season, however, the emergence of Victor Cruz and Jake Ballard and a healthy Hakeem Nicks regulated Manningham to a lesser position in the...
