Pro Football Zone:
Just last week we said that the New York Giants will likely lose wide receiver Mario Manningham during the offseason via free agency.
Now that Manningham hauled in the most impressive catch of Super Bowl XLVII, that ultimately put the Giants in position to win, there’s at least one team out there that will offer him big money on the open market.
Mike Florio and Peter King of NBC Sports Talk believe the team that would have no problem opening their wallet for Manningham, is the Washington Redskins. They clearly need a dynamic receiver that can stretch the field with Santana Moss’ career slowly winding down as they continue to re-build.
The problems I see with Manningham, is that he’s very inconsistent with his route running and I’ve noticed that he sometimes makes routine catches look more difficult then they need to be. He also has the ability to make some phenomenal catches in clutch situations.
BEST OF MAXIM
Mario Manningham had a fairly disappointing 2011 regular season, as a knee injury and the emergence of Victor Cruz put him in the background at times as he also missed four games. But he made an impact during the Giants' Playoff Run, catching a touchdown in each of the team's first three postseason games and capping it off with five catches for 73 yards against the New England...
For New York Giants fans, tonight was your night as the Vince Lombardi trophy is coming back to the Big Apple as the Giants won Super Bowl XLVI.
One of the big plays that turned the tide was this catch from Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham on the sidelines:
Receiver Mario Manningham made one of the key plays in the Giants' Super Bowl XLVI victory. Manningham is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason.
As an impending free agent, Mario Manningham could cash in on his Super Bowl heroics. He says he hopes to remain with the Giants. “I want to come back,” Manningham said, via the New York Post. “I want to come back, but I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m just going to try and…
For much of the year, Mario Manningham flew under the radar for the New York Giants.
In the past, Manningham had been a solid receiver who hauled in over 50 catches for more than 800 yards in the past two seasons for the Giants. During this season, however, the emergence of Victor Cruz and Jake Ballard and a healthy Hakeem Nicks regulated Manningham to a lesser position in the...

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Move over David Tyree. Mario Manningham is the new star in the Giants' latest version of the "The Catch."It may not have been a helmet catch like Tyree's in the Super Bowl four years ago, but it was just as clutch and just as timely _ and ...
TweetThe play of the game was Mario Manningham's 38 yard catch (reception) on a perfectly thrown ball by Eli Manning in the 4th quarter of Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots.
Super Mario had misplayed an early pass by Eli and stepped out of bounds before securing the ball. Manningham definitely made up for that mishap with this amazing catch which started the comeback...
Eli Manning to Mario Manningham. This is the play you should be talking about after the Giants' 21-17 win over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. A straight 9 (fade) route with an outside release vs. Cover 2.
David Tyree has company. Four years after Tyree made an amazing helmet-grabbing catch on an Eli Manning pass to help the Giants upset the Patriots in the Super Bowl, Mario Manningham joined Tyree as New York's latest, unlikeliest postseason hero.
INDIANAPOLIS — As the Giants came onto the field for the third quarter last night, Deon Grant and Mario Manningham had a chat.
“He was down because he had got one catch the first half. And he was telling me, ‘D, say a prayer for me because I need to get...
