CSN Washington is reporting that the Redskins CB Josh Wilson could be in line for a new contract this offseason.
Wilson will be in the last year of his contract in 2013 and is set to make $3.9 million. He carries a $5.33 million cap hit, so Washington may want to ease some of the pressure pertaining to their salary cap by getting a new deal done with Wilson.
It wasn’t a great year for Wilson, with receivers averaging 15.2 yards per catch for 5 touchdowns when being covered by him, but ranked 20th in the league in tackling amongst cornerbacks, with 61 stops.
Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 37 best cornerback in the league this year.
