Youve got to love John Beck. Not for the way he plays the game (he did lose the starting quarterback race to Rex Grossman at the start of last year before losing it again in the middle of 2011) or his winning percentage (hes 0-7 in his career as a starter). No, youve got to love Becks confidence because even though hes been passed over plenty of times before for Grossman and even though the Redskins almost surely will find a new quarterback in the offseason, he still believes he should be Washingtons starter. "I feel without a doubt I can be a better quarterback. I told our coaches this at the end of the season. I went into coach (Mike) Shanahan's office and said, 'I want to play right now, said Beck during an interview with 97.5 The Zone. This is very frustrating for me to have had my opportunity, to made the most of it when he put me in, I made the most of it, but the games following it didn't go the way we wanted. It's tough for me to say now I'm not playing. I'm like Coach, I want to play because having that experience I know I can play better. And he said, I know you can too, but right now we're in this situation. There'll be another opportunity down the road and you just got to make sure you're ready for it. So, there's where my mindset is at.

NFL 2012 Draft: Kirk Cousins Should be on Washington Redskins’ list
Michigan State’s Kirk Cousins may not be on your list of quarterback choices for the Washington Redskins, but he should.
If he is, he’s probably like No. 3 or 4 next to Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. I think Kirk Cousins should be observed a little closer.
At the Senior Bowl this year he threw for 115 yards and a touchdown Saturday in helping the North to a 23-13...
NFL draft: Redskins’ best QB option could be Texas A&M’s Ryan Tannehill
In the last week, we took a look at quarterbacks Peyton Manning, Kyle Orton and Matt Flynn and how they may or may not fit with the Washington Redskins, who desperately need an answer under center.
But one thing’s clear. Regardless of whom the Redskins go with in free agency — whether the Colts release Manning and Mike Shanahan succeeds in luring the future Hall of Famer...
Revisiting the Redskins Draft Conundrum
One of the things that I believe has caused a great divide with regards to the analysis of the Mike Shanahan era in Washington between local commentators (message: you can clearly see where things are running better than before) and national commentators (message: has Mike Shanahan lost his mind?) is -- and this is just my opinion -- determining the identity of the competition. Far...
Washington Redskins Hold Special Place in Black History Month
A Super Bowl Champion is the result of drive, tears, and determination. He knows the results of game play week after week, etched legacies, and how one game brings out the heroes in the least of candidates, and leaving the other team wondering what could have been. The Washington Redskins took it a step higher, inadvertently breaking the stereotypical lines of color in football...
The Redskins are on the verge of great offseason success
Our theme going into the 2011 season was that you would like this Washington Redskins team even if they finished with the same record as in 2010. The Redskins finished a five-win season—thank Goodness we swept the Giants or it would have been a three-win season—and now they enter the best part of the year, the offseason.
In the past, Daniel Snyder fell for large-scale, questionable...
Rex Grossman wants to stay with the Redskins
As the Redskins ponder their options at quarterback, it’s fairly safe to say that the 2012 starter won’t be Rex Grossman. Grossman has yet to get that memo, however. Appearing today on SiriusXM Radio’s Movin’ the Chains with Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan, Grossman said he wants to stay with the Redskins. “I definitely like…
