I’m thrilled to finally see what RGIII does against an NFL-caliber defense, and frightened to see what Drew Brees does to a sub-NFL secondary. My expectation: New Orleans hangs 30-plus on Washington, which struggles to score 20.
(My recommendation: Keep hopes low. It’ll help later.)
Regardless, Matt Terl, of the reborn site The Internet Is For Zorn(!) will have your post-game Winners & Losers, which is nice. Til then, enjoy the dawn of a new era.
Kickoff: 1 p.m. ET
Line: Redskins +7.5

With football season finally in full swing and fans all over the country getting ready for tailgating and fantasy football leagues. Lets take a moment to honor the awesome foundation that Dree Brees and his wife started. You can feel good about the fact that some of your hard-earned dollars that you put forth in [...]
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees salvaged a lousy day with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes.Fantasy Spin:Brees finished with 339 yards on 52 passing attempts, three touchdowns and two picks. He completed just 46.2 percent of his passes.
Drew Brees led the Saints' offense onto the field with a chance to complete an unlikely comeback in the final minutes, only to throw another errant pass.
Washington safety DeJon Gomes snagged Brees' overthrown ball for receiver Lance Moore and returned it to the New Orleans 4, setting up the decisive touchdown in the Redskins' 40-32 victory over the Saints on Sunday...
With Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III set to make his professional debut tomorrow afternoon against the Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, superstar New Orleans signal-caller Drew Brees admitted being excited to see how the Redskins rookie performs. “You figure it’s … Continue reading →
Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham were quite the unstoppable force last season setting records that nobody saw coming.
The balance from the run game truly made the New Orleans offense tops in the NFL.
Plus, a healthy Mark Ingram could take this team towards another postseason appearance since he gives the team a solid north-south ground game that they have not seen since Deuce McAllister...
Washington Redskins – 40 New Orleans Saints – 32
By now I am sure you are aware that the Washington Redskins went marching into Saints territory and did something that no team was able to do last year — win in New Orleans — and did it in a rather strong fashion.
The much anticipated debut of Robert Griffin III lived up to everyone in Redskins Nation’s...
In case you don’t frequent the same sites I do, here are two season previews that I’m reading in advance of tomorrow’s game:
Pro Football Focus:
All of the offseason turmoil stemming from ‘Bounty-Gate’ can make it easy to forget the fact the Saints were a 13-3 team last season, and with Drew Brees at the helm of an explosive offense, it’s unlikely that the Saints...
Prediction No. 1: New Orleans Saints Win Over Washington Redskins by 17 PointsThe last meeting of these two teams was December 6, 2009, Week 13 of the New Orleans Saints' Super Bowl-winning season. The Saints won 33-30 over the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field to go 12-0 at that point of the season. But it was more than the 12th straight win that made this particular game so...
When people think of the elite quarterbacks in the league, they think of names like Rodgers, Brady, Brees and Stafford. They see 5000 yard seasons and 40+ touchdowns leading explosive offensives with impressive arm strength and pinpoint accuracy. What often gets overlooked is how poor their own defenses are in the rankings. What do Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Matthew...
Wow. What a way to kickoff the NFL season. Overall, there were many surprising moments. Robert Griffin III stunned and out played Drew Brees in his NFL debut. Adrian Peterson's supernatural abilities were on display after returning from a t
Okay, I said it in the description and that is the only time I will mention bounties in this piece.I will talk about the one area of the team that I believe has the most to potentially gain or lose during this season. In 2012 the New Orleans Saints will have had three different men fill the role of head coach. The main man, Sean Payton is suspended for the season because of you...
Everyone...and I mean everyone...had reservations about starting Adrian Peterson this week. I saw so many folks recommending Toby Gerhart over AP. Peterson showed why he's who he is. Nobody comes back from that kind of injury this fast and he rushes for 84 yards and two scores. All Day!
Either the Washington defensive line is amazing or the offensive line of the Saints needs...
Redskins @ Saints
Washington Redskins at New Orleans Saints
Sunday: September 9th
Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins are taking their talents to South Beach… I mean the Big Easy, as they face off with Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints on the NFL’s opening weekend.
Kickoff is set for 1 o’clock on Fox where Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnson and unfortunately...
