MVN:
Washington Redskins quarterback Colt Brennan will be placed on the injured reserve list according to a story posted to Redskins.com by Larry Weisman and Gary Fitzgerald. Brennan tore a hamstring during the Jacksonville Jaguars game. Brennan was locked in a surprising battle with Chase Daniel to make the roster. I was pulling for him. How can you not cheer for a guy who calls Chris Cooley his life coach? Both Brennan and Daniel have a following of devout fans from their college day who are convinced that their guy should be the Redskins' starter next season. Head coach Jim Zorn sees each of them as development prospects. Weisman's story implies that Brennan's status might not lock a spot for Daniel. If the Redskins choose to carry two quarterbacks on the active roster, they would have room to carry five running backs or six receivers where there is a logjam of young talent.NFL teams must cut the roster to 53 players by six p.m. ET today.
