The Washington Redskins are close to signing veteran tight end Chris Cooley. A source told the Washington Post on Sunday night that the two sides have agreed to a deal. "It's going to happen," the source said. Cooley is scheduled to have a physical Monday and his re-signing with the team will take place afterward. Cooley's addition comes in the wake of the Redskins losing starter Fred Davis to a season-ending torn left Achilles tendon during their loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Cooley would not comment when the Post reached him Sunday night. Washington released Cooley before the season but left open the possibility of re-signing him. He is the team's all-time leader in catches by a tight end.
