Derrick Dockery has been here since 2003 being draft by Steve Spurrier. Except for a two year stint in Buffalo, he has been a lifelong Redskin. Today, his tenue with the team ended along with Andre Carter. Ma’ake Kemoeatu is likely to be released on Thursday.
For Dockery, he had been penciled in as the pre-season starter but was releaced by Kory Lichtensteiger by week three. Despite being deposed, he remained well mannered and finished his run as a Redskin as a class act.
Andre Carter was also well liked by the media. He came from San Francisco where he felt out of place in their 3-4 scheme, hoping to fit in to Gregg Williams’s aggressive defensive style. He did well in his position and in 2009 posted 11 sacks.
